Our place is perfect for foreign guests! It's in a very secure, gated area near the Gulshan diplomatic zone with 24hr security & CCTV. This is a very spacious, clean private room with 2 beds so it is great for a family or group. The room has a private attached bathroom & a beautiful private balcony with lake views. The flat also has co-working space available with access to WiFi, desks, printers, whiteboards, &conference rooms, so it is ideal for students or people here for research or work.
During the day, the flat shares co-working space with an international, youth-based non-profit. Your room is entirely private and no one will bother you or be in your way, but if you wish to interact with some amazing young leaders, they are more than happy to give you advice about anything in town, to help you figure out how to get around, or to talk to you about life in Bangladesh. Since they've worked with me for several years, and we have had a lot of interns, they are comfortable with foreigners and a great resource if you have any questions!
In the evening, if I'm out of town, the entire flat is yours! In addition to your room, you also have access to a spacious kitchen, fridge, washing machine, and you are welcome to any of the food in the flat. There is coffee/tea, eggs, and oatmeal for breakfast in the mornings.
We also have a wonderful maid, Rita, who has been with me for many years and speaks some English. She works all day Sun-Thurs to keep the flat clean and tidy, do dishes, make tea, etc. If you would like, we can arrange for her to do extra work for you: she can clean & make-up your room daily, do your laundry/ironing, assist with grocery shopping, babysit, or even cook for you! Please just let me know what you need and I will let you know the cost and make arrangements for you!
If you need space to work, we have co-working space and business amenities in the flat and can make arrangements depending on your needs. We have everything available for your use including a desk/personal workspace, a conference room (with a projector), printers, whiteboards, and even a giant training room where we host events and training sessions. If you would like to use of any of these, we can make arrangements separately and you can feel good knowing the co-working space is one way we help financially support our non-profit organization.

Security is very important to us, so we just ask that you let us know in advance if you are expecting guests. Guests are allowed during the day, as long as they aren't disruptive to the other people working in the flat. You are welcome to have guests stay over, please just note that there is an additional charge for guests if there are more than two people in the room.
Because this is a residential building, we try to respect the other building tenants, so no parties allowed. Please keep guests in your room, and be respectful of the noise level.

I am in and out of the country right now, so I may not always be in Dhaka to show you around myself, but I'm always available by message! That being said, my business partner, Rahat, manages the flat, and is happy to show you around and explain everything to you. There are also the young people from the NGO who are always happy to share advice or help you find your way! If you need ANYTHING, we will make sure you are taken care of and will help you arrange whatever you need. We want our guests to feel comfortable and safe, and if there's anything we can help with, we will try our best!

This a truly an awesome space for anyone who is visiting Dhaka for a short stay, or for anyone who is looking for a place to live while they are in Bangladesh for an internship, research, or work in Dhaka.
Although I'm in and out a lot at the moment, I spent several years living and working in Bangladesh and have a great love for this country while also understanding the unique experience of being a foreigner (and a foreign woman) living in Dhaka. I love Bangladesh very much, and I want my guests to feel free to enjoy all of the wonderful experiences that this city has to offer, while understanding that it can be overwhelming at times! It is important that my guests feel safe and secure in every way, and to know they have a friend and support network they can count on if they need anything.
- Please no smoking in the house, there is a private balcony if needed. You are welcome to enjoy the space in the flat and have access to the co-working space, but please be respectful of others who will be working there during the day.
No parties, no pets, and absolutely no smoking indoors.
Feel free to engage with the amazing young people who share our co-working space! They are working for the betterment of the community and will enjoy sharing their advice and tips with you if you have any questions about getting around in Dhaka, traveling outside of Bangladesh, or if you just want to chat.
You may ask for help from our wonderful maid, Rita- she will be happy to clean your room if you wish during your stay, as well as doing your laundry if you wish. Rita has worked for us for many years and we consider her a member of our family and we ask that you treat her with respect and courtesy.
