Himalayan Luxury Bivouacs is a tented resort about 13 kms away from the hustle bustle of Leh town. In the quite neighborhood amongst swathes of green fields and Poplar/Willow trees. Within walkable distance to Indus river and very near Shey Palace & Thiksey Monastery - this place has everything that one could seek from a luxury tented resort. The very large tents secured on a raised platform, has four poster bed, very well lit, ample storages, a shower cubicle with multiple spray jets, shower and steam on demand - a huge, huge, welcome for people coming from the tiring road journeys to Nubra/Pangong Tso/ Tso Moriri. The food including breakfast was awesome - though nothing local on offer. Again, calling it a homestay is a far cry as there are no locals or local cuisine to interact or experiment with - a luxury resort set against an awesome location is the high point. Clean sheets, bedding, quilts are worthy of appreciation, the reception also doubles up an interaction platform, with well laid out seating, reference & fiction books, etc. A great place to plonk if seeking some solitude without really being cut-off totally!
