My place is literally across the street from the 96th street subway station, serving the red 1/2/3 lines(goes as far north as the Bronx, and southbound into Brooklyn). It's also a three-avenue walk from Central Park. Neighborhood is relatively quiet and safe, and a short subway ride from anywhere else in NYC. Neighborhood is called the Upper West Side. Walkable from Columbia U. campus. Abundant in restaurants, quiet cafes, shopping etc. My place is best-suited for couples and solo adventurers.
My space sits right on Broadway, which is the main through-street that runs across Manhattan. It's a one flight walk up the stairs, and sits on top of Manhattan Diner on street level. As is viewable in the photos, one enters the apartment into a spacious common area, which then proceeds into the kitchen and then the bedroom at the far end.
Disponible para huéspedes
The guests will be staying in the designated bedroom, with a closable door that should provide adequate privacy. Of course, they may hang out in the rest of the apartment, as it is where the kitchen and the bathroom are. They are not restricted from any part of the apartment. I will need to access the bedroom myself a couple of times a day, since both my dresser and treadmill are in there, but I make sure to work it out so that there's as little encroachment as possible.
Atención a los huéspedes
I'm always in and out over the course of the day. I tend to stay up relatively late, but at no disruption to the guests once they have retired to the bedroom. I'm happy to chat with my guests; offer help as to where they'd like to go, and what to do or see. I'm open to hanging out if it's convenient and in our mutual interest, but of course, that will come down to the schedules and goals of the guest.
Otros aspectos destacables
I'm starting with sharing for only four nights of the week, Monday-Thursday, or at least, those are the only nights I'm allowing to be reserved thru Instant Booking. This is because my weekends are unpredictable as to whether I'll be around. If you send a specific request to stay on a given weekend, I can let you know whether I'll be around to accommodate you. The rate may differ from my during-the-week rate. Also, my space can accommodate up to two, but one of those guests will sleep on an air-mattress.
- Smoking can be done right outside. I'm in a 2nd floor walk-up apartment. Some notes: I live in a one-bedroom, and that bedroom will be the guest room. It has a closable door. I sleep on the sofa in the open area of the apartment. I will need access to the bedroom a couple of times a day, since my dresser and closet are in there, as is my treadmill. As a guest, you need to be comfortable with me being able to access the room when I need to. I'll only need the room for an extended period when I use the treadmill, which is for about 90 minutes in the evening(sometime between 7-10 PM). I will try to work with your schedule, so that I can get my running done when you're not using the room. Communication is, of course, key. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, and if you'd like to request certain accommodations, please make me aware of them beforehand, so that we can discuss and come to an agreement. My schedule does vary, such that I make days available on the calendar usually no more than two weeks ahead of time.
