- The space Bombora Beach House Anglesea is a large home at Point Roadknight on the beach side of the Great Ocean Road in a quiet cul-de-sac. It is within walking distance to the wide sandy cove of Point Roadknight Beach and Anglesea Main Beach. These are patrolled all through the summer months and have some great surf. The famous surf at Bells Beach is about 15 minutes drive toward Torquay, and in the other direction Lorne is about 30 minutes drive. We offer a variety of tranquil spaces within this beautiful home for a large family or group of friends to be able to come together or have time out on their own. Our home has large living spaces and lots of outdoor living. We have two bathrooms and 2 separate toilets, four bedrooms, off road parking for several cars without having to move each time someone needs to get out thanks to the circular driveway. The yard is fully fenced, offering an option for those with dogs* to come for a beach holiday and bring their favourite member of the family! Wi-fi is provided. There are flat screen TV's in the two living areas with DVD player, Wii 2, Band Hero, stereo (including outdoor speakers) with smart phone music input, heaps of movie and music DVD’s, shelves of books, loads of games and a pool table which doubles as a table tennis table. Our focus is on nature, the beach, family gatherings and quiet time in one of the many cosy indoor or outdoor areas. The back yard is huge and has lots of shady native trees.
-Guest information The house is all on one level, with no steps internally – this makes it quite safe for children, the elderly, or for people with limited mobility. Heating and cooling is provided by 2 large Daikin split system reverse cycle air conditioners. The open fireplace is mainly for ambience in the colder months – please note that a small amount of kindling and wood is provided, and more may be purchased at the Anglesea service station, hardware or IGA supermarket. Please clean out and leave the fireplace as you found it. In addition to the main kitchen, there is a wet bar with bar fridge in the living/games room. The 4 burner gas bbq has a spare gas bottle in case you run out. The gas hot water system provides steaming hot water (which can be temperature controlled from the main panel in the kitchen) with great water pressure, and there is an outdoor shower adjoining the laundry for rinsing off after your swims and hanging wetsuits etc.
-The neighbourhood We have lovely neighbours and the house is located in a beautiful area. The feature is obviously the beach, a well known surf break but also a patrolled swimming beach. We have cliff walks, bike paths, local cafe's & restaurants, IGA supermarket, hardware store, spa/massage centre, Anglesea golf course (famous for its kangaroos), surf clubs, Heathland Reserve, Angahook Park, river canoeing and many other local attractions within a short walk or drive. We will leave a list of our favourite things to do. Bring your bikes if you have room because the Great Ocean Road is an iconic cycling destination.
-Other things to note *Dogs are welcome and there is a huge grassed area in the fenced back yard. There are water and food bowls and a dog bed we can provide. There is a dog door which medium sized dogs will fit through. If your dog is indoors, we will ask that you don't allow them on any of the furniture, rugs or into any of the carpeted areas. Any damage caused by pets or steam cleaning required will be deducted from bond. We would request that no evidence of pets (ie fur, sand or doggy do) is left after your visit. Thank you for your understanding. * Please make a pet request with your initial enquiry - we cannot accommodate families with out of control pets. We charge a $100 fee for the stay.
