We sincerely appreciate your feedback. We constantly strive for perfection for all our guests as evident by our 5 star rating from the 58 reservations we've had so far which have led to our Airbnb Superhost status.
You call this a basement suite, it is not. It is a ground level suite as evident from the amazing amount of light from the floor to ceiling windows in the living space. The bedroom only has one window with a great blind to block light for those that want to sleep in on their vacation. The lights are not very bright in the bedroom and we are very embarrassed that you found a two small dust bunnies. As a result of this, we are providing a very bright flashlight for the housekeeper so they can scour absolutely every corner and ensure that this one time embarrassment never happens again.
All the bedding is freshly laundered for every guest, every time. We do not use a top sheet, and the duvet cover is washed and changed between every guest. If you remember, this fact is evident as we ask all guests to strip the bed completely (including the duvet cover) and place all linens and towels in the laundry basket for us to launder. We have pillow protectors on the primary pillows which are nearly brand new and completely clean. I looked at the pillow covers on the decorative sham pillows and found a very slight, small discolouration on one of those. We will purchase new ones which we do on a regular basis. Probably far more often than any hotel.
The tiny bit of mildew on the washing machine rubber flange door seal is due to the fact that the washer and dryer are in a closet. We are adding a note to the washing machine to ask guests to leave the door open after doing laundry until the washer is completely dry. This will prevent that issue from ever happening again.
You mention that the majority of the reviews mention how clean our Airbnb is. This is reflected by our 5 star clean rating but everyone makes small mistakes at times and we appreciate you pointing out these small but important observations to us.
