We really enjoyed our stay at Lucia's place. The place is in a quiet part of Venice where you are staying with the locals and eating at their trattorias! We walked to the coffee shop each morning. We frequented the grocery store (the coop). Lucia met us near the water taxi and walked us to the apartment. She gave us a nice overview with a lovely map and hand-written ideas on the map. She was responsive throughout our stay - providing restaurant recos and even helping us print tickets for the theater. A couple notes on the apartment. It was lovely. As you'll note from the description, it is many flights up (bit of a walk) a narrow stair case (hard to carry suitcases). The hot water generally worked - but - was persnickity like you might expect in an old building. All in all - accurately advertised. Helpful host. Great quiet location. We enthusiastically recommend.

Central located apartment in residential area of Venice. Close to restaurants and public transportation. Lucia was there to welcome us. Apartment is cute, only thing missing are some chairs at kitchen table. The stools are not that comfortable

Lucia's place is absolutely stunning and located in a really nice area. It takes about 30-40mins by water taxi so plan accordingly. It is located near the small restaurants and grocery stores. The apartment was clean spacious and has an awesome balcony. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. There is no dryer so you would have to hang clothes and make sure to pin them. Lucia also went above and beyond and shipped me my passport and iPad to our next destination (because I'm stupid and left them at the Airbnb) . She is very trustworthy and would definitely recommend. Thanks again!

The apartment is in a GREAT location. It's right by the Arsenale and Biennale if you are coming to Venice to check out the contemporary art and it's located in a quieter area with way less tourists and a more authentic feel. At the same time, you're no more than a 15 minute walk from San Marco, where most of the action is. The apartment itself is very clean, spacious, and has lovely views. The bedrooms are on opposite ends of the apartment, which give you some extra privacy and the kitchen is well equipped with clean and modern appliances should you feel like making yourself a meal. Unfortunately, I had a less than pleasant experience with the host when arriving to the apartment. I was taking a train from Florence and as is common in Italy, our train was delayed over 20 minutes so we arrived a little late to Venice. Between the wait for the water bus and ride over there, we arrived to the area 40 minutes or so after the check in time located on the listing. I had been in communication with Lucia all throughout this process, making sure she knew when we arrived from the train and were on the water bus. We got a little lost on our way from the water bus to the flat, as there are two streets with the same name as the one this apartment is located on and because our phone map was acting up. Throughout our entire water bus ride and walk over to the apartment, Lucia started to repeatedly message me asking where I was and scolding and shaming me for getting lost. She threatened to leave if we weren't there in 10 minutes and even called Airbnb to contact me to see where I was. Even though she was the one to contact Airbnb, the customer service rep felt so bad for me, as she understood that trains run late and it's very easy to get lost in Venice, that she gave me a 10 euro credit so that she could treat me to a coffee. It's not like we stopped for a long meal and disregarded Lucia and her time. We hurried over as soon as we could, stayed in direct communication, and were there only a little past the check in time. I've never felt so stressed and rushed arriving to a place where I spent good money to stay at and where, because of circumstances out of my control, I was running a little behind schedule. Her consistent rude messages made me want to cry! It left a very bad taste in my mouth.

Respuesta de Lucia E Riccardo:
Dear Grace, thank you for your negative feedback, this makes me think that there is always much to learn from people like you. Aside from the offensive tone that is totally inadequate, you probably have not realized that Airbnb is a community, not a hotel (where instead you come and go to what you want now). I make my time available to all my guests by agreeing to me BEFORE their arrival, and if my guests have any delays as often happens, they inform me before, not at the last minute as you did. I have asked you many times "where are you"? for a message and never once told me where I was but just "sorry ... have patience, we come" (among other things you came with a friend who was not expected and you also told me this last moment). After almost 2 hours of unjustified delay (you had a very precise map and asked to follow it, what you did not do) and I do not know how many messages you did not tell me where you were, I called Airbnb who suggested me to go. I was about an hour late on my job. But I waited until the end. In spite of all, I wrote about you that you are okay, because as you have seen from my reviews (which are over 200 and all positive) I like to overcome the obstacle and look the positive side. We are probably very different.

We loved how this apartment felt tucked away in an authentic neighborhood. Yet it was close to everything we wanted to see. Very clean. Lovely small terrace. Lucia and Riccardo were kind hosts and easy to get a hold of if we needed anything. I would definitely recommend it!

My friend and I were absolutely delighted with this apartment - it is in the perfect location to see the art Biennale as it is right next to Arsenale and a short walk to Giardini. It is a very cute and comfortable flat with a wonderful terrace looking out over the neighborhood. I always prefer to stay outside of the super touristy areas and this neighborhood gives you the feel of daily life in Venice - from the laundry hung criss cross over the street to the cafes filling up at night with the older locals gathering for their evening spritz - it's great. Lucia & Riccardo were wonderful hosts - my luggage was lost on the flight in and Lucia very nicely helped me communicate with the lost baggage office to have it delivered. We also went on a fantastic boat ride with Riccardo & Lucia through the canals at night - I cannot recommend it highly enough - it was magical and they were wonderful tour guides.
