John's place was just what we needed. A quiet street in a good location. He was very accommodating with our late arrival and was a friendly host, giving us useful tips, as we were looking to move to the St. Louis area. We would definitely recommend his place for other travelers.

If you're looking for a clean, comfortable home within walking distance to what St. Louisians affectionately call "The Loop", then John's (or Bart as he prefers to be called) place is for you. The room I stayed in had a queen-size bed (with half-a-dozen pillows, which I love!) and its own fully-stocked (with towels and various toiletries) ensuite bathroom, which ensured total privacy! It also had a flat-screen TV (a few local channels, not a wide spectrum of cable or specialty channels), small writing desk, a chest of drawers and lots of closet space, which I really didn't use as I was only staying for 3 nights. I also had access to the kitchen, living & dining rooms as well as the patio and backyard. N.B. they also have a cat, which was friendly and unobtrusive, but if you're allergic to cats you may not want to stay here. Another thing is at the time I stayed here there was some construction going on in the vicinity, and as I'm usually a late-riser especially when I'm on vacation, the sound would be my alarm clock in the morning! Otherwise, this is the perfect place to have a good night's (or two or three!) rest.

John is a nice host. When I first got to St. Louis, he was very kind to show me around the university city and help driving me to grocery stores. I also had great communications with him.

Pleasant accommodations in a lovely neighborhood that is adjacent to the U. City Loop and an easy walk to Washington U. John was a great host. Our room suited us perfectly. Given that we were there during 100 degree weather (the mercury hit 108 on Saturday) perhaps most important to us was the superb air conditioning and ceiling fan. The bed was also very comfortable and stocked with many pillows--which I love. The bathroom was clean and well provisioned. All in all, a comfortable and enjoyable 3 night stay.

John is a very pleasant host. I arrived late at midnight and he was so kind to wait for me to help me check in. His place is also very spacious and well equipped. The house is close to the Loop, which is a street with good restaurants and artists. I recommend John's place to single or couple travelers.

We had the best time staying at John's place during our trip to St. Louis. The house is beautiful and is in such a great location. We wanted to be close to Wash U and the loop, which is exactly what we got. John was so wonderful and generous. The home has a beautiful porch and patio, where we spent a lot of time. We used the kitchen to cook breakfast and store snacks and drinks. There were two bathrooms with showers, which was great since we were four people. The bed was very comfortable and there was a lot of storage space for clothes and a big closet for hanging clothes. The neighborhood surrounding the house was lovely and we felt very safe. We would definitely recommend John's place for anyone visiting St. Louis and would love to stay with John next time we are in town!

Single father of two amazingly beautiful daughters. Teacher for the past 17 years at the only career job I've ever held. Love to travel on quick road trips but also on longer family getaways. Spent one summer backpacking across Europe. Other than having kids it was the best experience of my life. So many stories to relive.

My favorite all time destination has got to be Istanbul, Turkey. My ex wife is Turkish and we spent many summers visiting family in Southern Turkey, but Istanbul is by far the most fascinating city I've been (and I've been to quite a few). It's got the best of everything, east meets west, old meets modern, religion meets secular kind of vibe.

If you stay in my home, you will be treated as not only a guest, but as I would treat a friend who stays with me. I have a beautiful historic home about 10 minutes from downtown St. Louis and about five from Clayton. We are five minute walk to one of the top 10 streets in America the Delmar Loop with many eclectic shops and local restaurants. Also a 15 minute walk or 3 minute Uber to Forest Park the greatest urban park in America.

I have two extra guest bedrooms. One has a queen bed and the other has two singles with trundle beds under each. Having these two rooms could easily accommodate your family of up to six. If you want or need more space you can rent the whole house which would include my master suite with a queen bed and a finished basement.

The house exudes historic charm and has a great eat in kitchen and spacious deck and back yard in an extremely friendly and walkable neighborhood. You won't be disappointed with what you get.
