Thank you for your excellent recommendation regarding the comfort, convenience and how much you enjoyed my place. I take a great deal of pride in ensuring my guests are very well taken care of and more importantly enjoy their time visiting Montreal. As you mentioned in your review, I was always readily available to assist with your needs whenever required.
As for the parking, firstly, I only recently removed the “Free Parking” due to the high level of construction at the adjacent overpass, as a result, the city has without any notice been placing temporary no parking signs on the street to accommodate the construction. Once that is resolved, I will again indicate on the Airbnb profile that parking is in fact free. Secondly, it is simply a matter of reading the signs carefully, which I also did debrief you on in person. Some areas are reserved for permit holders while other areas have restrictions on specific days of the week/times. This is normal for any downtown city parking.
Its just unfortunate that you did not understand the parking signage. You are my first guest or even friend that encountered such an issue. The signage is clearly indicated. All that being said, when you did have an issue I immediately contacted the City of Westmount to make special arrangements. The special parking permission was just out of courtesy, it is actually only permitted for my personal visitors and I have limited amount of passes per year. So, I consider this as a favour, which I don't mind offering once in a while, but I've never had to in the past. Its unfair for you to expect me to cover your parking issue, when all you had to do was give me a call. If I was unavailable then this would have been an entirely different situation, but as you mentioned in your review that it was never an issue in contacting me. I am sorry this impacted your stay and your rating of my apartment but as mentioned in our previous correspondence should you ever wish to use my apartment again I would offer you a special discount. Kindly understand, it is unfair to request that I absorb a cost that could have been avoided had you simply communicated your concerns.
