Acerca de este anuncio
Gortavallig is a 200-year-old traditional stone whitewashed cottage, sympathetically restored to retain its original character and charm. It is set in over 100 acres of private land and accessed by a quarter-mile-long private road. It is a few minutes on foot from Glanmore Lake and has fine views of the surrounding countryside and mountains.
The house is actually two cottages joined together. There is a small barn next to it which houses a utility and storage room. There are a few small stone out buildings. The cottage has been featured in various publications including the Guardian, Irish Homes and Interiors, 25 Beautiful Homes and has been used as a location for a photographic catalogue shoot for UK clothing company Toast. Having been restored to retain as many as possible of its original features while adding modern comforts, it does not have a shiny new finish and is more suitable for those seeking a genuinely rustic experience. There is a wood burning stove in the kitchen and another in the living room.

The private road to Gortavallig leads you over a small bridge and along the side of the lake. You then go up a fairly steep hill where you go through a farm gate. After this gate you are in the land surrounding the house, over 100 acres of woodland and mountains...your own private terrain.
