A converted 1965 Airstream Ambassador, The Airdream @ Villa Anita is another dandy of a spot in this museum of growing sculptural dwellings.

This cozy little nook with it's wild decor spills out into a spacious deck for relaxing, a separate bathroom with a bottle-wall shower, and a garden with a hidden soaking tub.

Even if you love renting Airstreams, you've never stayed in one quite like this.

El lugar

The Airdream is part of a complex web of what the creators of Villa Anita call livable sculptures. While here, you kind of fall into the rhythms of the 6 artists that call Villa Anita home, and can feel free touring the grounds and pondering the art that's encrusted this little desert plot.

Villa Anita is a sprawling labyrinth of art that we'd like you to explore. Photos are encouraged, and you can tag us on Instagram: @villaanitadv or (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN): /villaanitadv.

Atención a los huéspedes

We're here 24/7 to guide you through your stay here. It's a culture shock to land in this little town of 50 people, but it's even more of a shock to try to navigate this crazy little place. We keep things fun and offer a family feeling against the harsh landscape. You'll feel right at home.

What a great spot! Basically burning man art which made me really happy and I felt at home. Wonderful living community of people at this location. For real though, the art was off the charts! I want to go back and make some pottery to add to it:) I lucked out on the weather and sleeping with the doors open was nice. Delicious food you guys cooked. It really did feel like a family. What a cool spot out in the desert. Added bonus I arrived right when the moon was rising so it started off the stay beautifully... See you again!!

What an amazing place!!! We weren't really sure what to expect from our stay. The lodging in the 'air dream' was fun, but the true joy was feeling like we integrated right into the small community they have created. If you want to keep to yourself and need traditional luxury this may not be the place for you. But if you like art and fascinating people, are a free spirit or like to pretend you are a free spirit (like me) and enjoy talking about travel, art and creativity with amazing people while surrounded by art and great music you will love it here. Close to Death Valley and Tecopa hot springs there are things to visit in the area but do yourself a favor and plan on spending half a day just hanging out. You won't regret it. I can't wait to come back.

This is the kind of place I come to AirBnB for - charming, offbeat, unique. The setting is gorgeous - right at the foot of Death Valley and minutes from the Tecopa hot springs. The trailers are comfortable, and you can feel good about their fairly low-impact setup. Personally, I love an outdoor shower, so that was a bonus. It's sort of an artist commune, where you stay in retro-fitted trailers filled with paintings within a kind of junk dada tented camp and eat your meals with the tribe. Carlo, Aaron, Jack, Ryan, Caitlin, the six dogs - everyone is incredibly nice and welcoming, and ready to absorb you into their semi-fantastical bohemian retreat. Leave your typical hotel expectations at the door, and enjoy the funky vibe and singular experience of Villa Anita. I would definitely stay again.

This was the most unique and entertaining places we've ever stayed. It's a living art museum off the grid. David and Carlo are gracious hosts cooking communal, family-style meals for everyone on site for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Conversation is on another frequency.
