There were pros and cons to this AirBNB apartment. Our arrival and check was fantastic. We were caught in traffic for 2 hours betwen airport and the apartment yet the host had arranged for a friend to check us in and he was still there and without complaints. The friend facilitated a call to the host who welcomed us, and encouraged us to contact him if we needed anything including advise as tourists in Lima. 3 new large bottles of water and a carton of milk in the fridge was an excellent touch.
However, there were some aspects that made the apartment not suitable for children, some of which are safety related. The fridge has an electric current running through the door that gives a small zap when opening it and the washing machine is next to the fridge and sometimes gives a zap if you touch it whilst washing dishes. We raised this with the host but suggested there was no urgent repair required during our stay, and we kept our child out of the kitchen.
There are no barriers against the windows, with furniture pushed against them, like the beds, meaning a child looking out the window on their bed is at risk of falling to the ground 7 floors below. In one bedroom the curtain is transparent and only partially covers the window so that really affected our child's sleep. Our child's sleep was also affected by the light from the neighbors apartment during the night, which is no fault of the host, but something for consideration.
The apartment could do with a very thorough clean, although after trying to clean it, I admit that its very hard to keep clean.
