This was the perfect place to stay when visiting Ocracoke. The location is right in the middle of everything and easy biking or walking distance to most, if not all, of the main sites on the island. Caitlin also gave us some great tips on where to visit and how to get the best views of the sound. She also worked with us on timing when we thought there could be some bad weather in the area and what we could do/reschedule if that happened. Plus coffee from the coffee shop located downstairs in the morning hit the spot. Overall it was a great trip and we would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay in Catlin's home. The room was very nice, just as the description. They also have a tv with plenty of channels. We strongly recommend Catlin's home and definetively, we would like to come back again!

Staying at the Coffee Shop was a blast. I had just come in on the ferry from Cedar Island, on a bicycle trip up the coast. The crew were on top of communicating with me as I was riding up that day, and I found the place just fine. If you've never been to Ocracoke before, as I had not, if you can find somewhere to stay that's reasonable, the whole town is there as your oyster. I felt like I could walk anywhere I wanted to. The folks at the shop were accommodating, and had plenty of nice suggestions for where to go and what to do. They had all the basic necessities that I was looking for on a 1-night stay on my bike trip: AC, fresh water, electricity, Wifi, a comfy bed, a hot shower, and within easy distance of supper and bars. I plan to get back here with my girlfriend as soon as we can, for a real stay, not just a pass-through! One last thing to keep in mind: the (pay) ferry from Cedar Island is 2 to 2.5 hours long, and the (free) ferry from Hatteras Island is just over an hour plus a 15-mile drive from the other end of the island; so factor that in when estimating your arrival time. The hosts are super-flexible, but some town businesses close at 6pm or 7pm, so educate yourself when planning your arrival/departure.

Enjoy the low-key, relaxed island hospitality. I did.

Catlin's place was beautiful and easy walking distance from everything. We rented bikes for our stay and we're able to travel the entire island. The locals were all super friendly and helpful and made you feel like part of the community. For eating Dajio, the Ocracoke Bar and Grill and the Flying Melon are a must (particularly Dajio). We loved our coffee house, artsy getaway and will definitely be telling our family and friends.

Location was great with easy access to lots of island attractions. Very friendly hosts who shared tips on where to go. They were also very accommodating and let me leave some items in the fridge that I picked up just before I went to catch the ferry, which was a few hours after check-out.

I own a fabulous little coffee shop off the coast of North Carolina that is open year round with rooms above for rent or room exchange. I am a musician, painter and all around curious human. I love my island home and my 2 sweet beautiful puppies. I also love exploring new places and culture in the States and Abroad. Looking forward to meeting new folks in different walks through Air BnB!
