Cozy home features warm lighting & paint colors and creative Northwoods decorating with a modern touch. Amenities include high speed internet (24Mbps), stainless appliances, Bunn coffee maker, front load washer and dryer, DirecTV, 3 flat screen TV's, 2 fireplaces (wood burning in great room, electric in M.B.), and a high efficiency furnace. The home is situated on 4 wooded acres (not lakefront) off a well maintained gravel road. Very private. No neighbors in sight. Wildlife is abundant.
-No trespassing on neighbor’s property. The road is a private road. Feel free to take a walk down to the end of it. It’s actually a nice walk. You’ll see a few driveways, so please stay on the road so as not to go on someone else’s private property.
-No hunting on the property
-Do not leave garbage outside. It WILL attract bears and raccoons and they WILL make a mess of it.
-Please take your garbage with you when you leave-garbage bags are provided in the lower cabinet to the right of the stove. This includes unused food in the refrigerator/freezer.
-No large items in garbage disposal like orange peels, egg shells and the like. Small scraps are ok.
-No baby wipes down the toilet and please don't flush anything other than toilet paper. These rules are because the home is on a septic system.
-No smoking inside, however, feel free to smoke outside on the decks. Ash trays are available in island drawer.
-The keys will be on the front porch in the lockbox. At the time of your reservation, you will receive the lockbox code. Place keys back in lockbox upon checkout.
-Since my family utilizes the cabin frequently, we do have personal items throughout the home. For example, kitchen cabinets contain food products and closets contain clothing. There may be items in the refrigerator. There is still room for guests to keep their own items, but there are areas that are shared by the guest and the owners. Please do not consume owner’s food.
-There is a wood burning fire place in the great room that can be used during winter months. Caution should be used when burning and not left unattended. The chimney flue must be opened before burning, or the home will fill with the smoke (reach inside and you will find the bar that that opens and closes the flue). When the guest leaves, the fireplace must be completely out with no hot ashes and the flue closed and front glass doors closed. Always use both screens when burning in the fireplace for safety reasons. We will supply 1 wheelbarrow (about 1/3 of a firewood rack) of wood to guests to use (this will last about 1 full day of constant burning). Any additional wood needs to be purchased by the guests. There are several stores in the area that sell fire wood. Trash, cardboard, etc. can not be burned in the fireplace.
-There is also an outdoor wood fireplace on the deck that can be used during spring, summer, and fall months. Wood may not be available during spring/summer/fall, but it can be purchased for about $5/bundle at most gas stations in the area, including Kwik Trip. Any wood located on the wood rack on the deck can be used, but there are times during the summer when it is not available, so come prepared with your own, if you desire to use it.
-A gas fireplace is located on the larger deck. Please conserve propane and don’t leave it burning unattended. We have found that a tank will last for approximately 5-6 hours. There is typically some propane available to use and we try to keep a spare on the deck, but if you use a lot, or run out, please exchange the tank for a full tank at Kwik Trip. KT is located in Minocqua and in Rhinelander and it is about $20 for an exchange.
-Dogs: 2 dog limit unless permission was received from owner. All dogs must be crated during sleep hours and when left home alone. Dogs cannot roam loose on property without owner. Dogs should not be left outside alone while gone as they may bark and cause a disturbance to neighbors. Dog poop should be disposed of by tossing it out of the yard into wooded areas. There is a shovel located near the hose off the west end of the deck if needed.
-Do your best to clean up after yourself. Vacuum, mop, brooms, cleaning supplies, washing machine, dryer, etc. are all available for you to use. If you can leave the place tidy and clean, it is very much appreciated and helps keep our cleaning costs down.
-Do not leave outdoor furniture cushions outside when rain is in the forecast. Place them in the deck boxes. Each deck has a deck box. Be sure that cushions are always put away when you check out. The gas fireplace should be covered with the brown tarp folded in half to keep the top from getting wet and chairs propped against it to hold it in place, just like it was when you arrived.
-Finally, have fun! Enjoy the tranquility! Relax and if you enjoyed your stay, consider staying with us again next time you come to the area. We are taking bookings 1 year in advance. Thank you!

I am a professional who works in the public safety field in Madison Wisconsin. I grew up in the Northwoods of Wisconsin and had the opportunity to purchase this cabin four years ago. We visit the cabin as often as time permits and we love leaving the hustle and bustle of the bigger city. The cabin is peaceful and quiet with a lot of nature. We hope to share our cabin with people that will respect our property, the wildlife and the beautiful forests surrounding the property.
