Our cabin is in the middle of the nature, located on our summer farm in the mountains and there are goats right outside the cabin. You will love the nature, the mountains, the goats, the rivers, the green meadows and the fresh air. The place is suitable for couples and families.

Its a traditional Norwegian cottage without electricity, hotwater, or bathroom. There is a bio toilet and you have to go outside in the river to "shower".

This cabin is so great! It is all made of wood, very cozy and you'll find everything you need (except of hot shower and electricity). It is great with older kids, who can be outside on their own all day. Although it was raining a lot we had a great time in this beautiful landscape. You just need some good books and gather around the warm oven.

This place is a place i would like to keep secret. But then again the experience we had on the mountain in the beautiful surroundings of waterfalls, goats, trouts, and a horse is amazing and should be given to true nature lovers. We did not find it difficult to miss internet, phone connection or even electricity and hot water. We loved every minute of it and i would recommend it especially to families with children to teach them all about nature, and what is essential! A true gem!

Go for it!

Stop, you are done searching. This is the place where you want to spend your time. You are more than likely here on a vacation, and if you are not looking in the cities you are looking for a quiet secluded place to truly enjoy Norway's beauty and pristine environment, and if that is the case, look no further. There is no earthly way to put into words the heartwarming beauty that is found in this place. Out of every window is a cascading water fall, everywhere you look there are animals and lush green grasses, and the only sound you hear is the river running fifteen feet from your house. You wake up in the morning and there at the gate is a chestnut brown Icelandic horse, peacefully waiting to get a few scratches under the chin. For dinner make your meal over the gas stove and eat it on your rocky back patio overlooking the three mile long valley. In the afternoon they herd the goats into the milking barn, kids calling and whistling as they move hundreds of animals in for the night. My wife and I found this place by chance. When you are planning a road trip through Norway, the tiny village of Kandal (population 87) does not make the list. She wanted to stay at a working farm, dreaming of a scene from Anne of Green Gables. Two days before our trip we saw that we had missed the fine print about there not being a shower. As it turns out there is running water, the spicket is in the back yard and it comes right out of the river at a frosty 45' F or so. I showered off a few times using the water and it was hilarious, cold, and an experience I will cherish for the rest of my life. Please please please, do not let that dissuade you, losing this experience is not worth prioritizing something as small as a hot water heater. Sleeping by the heat of a wood stove, cooking while you look out the kitchen window to a cascading river, laughing as the mischievous horse sneaks into your yard when the farmer leaves the gate open. This is it. This is where you want to stay. It is an understatement to call this experience life changing.
