Thank you for your feedback Jackelyn. However, I feel that some of your comments are somewhat inaccurate and not fully representative of your stay at our place.
We have had many guests stay at the property and haven’t experienced any problems with hot water running out. We are very clear on what the house has to offer, namely a King, a Queen, a Double and two single beds + a cot - a total of 8 people. We don’t advertise it as accommodation for 11 people, which turned out to be the size of your group that ended up staying. I would expect you would have water issues, but frankly, you should probably have asked if we were OK with such a large group staying at our house.
The property accommodates 8 people and we do not expect people to bring any more then that, except for a baby in the portacot that we provide.
Our neighbours are very friendly and tolerant of guests staying at the property and we have never had any complaints prior to your stay. They reluctantly informed us by phone after a couple of nights of noise, which they were ok with, to report your guests being loud and abusive with threats of brawling in the street. They were actually going to call the Police so they did you a favour. This sort of behaviour is never acceptable in any holiday accommodation, especially not in a quiet family suburb.
The brand new swimming pool – which wasn’t installed when you booked the property, nor charged extra for as we honoured your booking - was clogged with party balloons and foodstuffs, which has since created issues with the pump system. It really is common sense that no food or foreign objects should be in the pool for that reason.
The new lounges are provided for guests’ comfort and not for sleeping on, which unfortunately because you allowed people to sleep on them made them very dirty and stained. We had to have them cleaned to remove oil stains.
The gardener who services the property fortnightly had quite a job removing cigarette butts, bottle tops and other garbage left from your visit. Linen was stained with nail polish and hidden in a cupboard, which was a little disconcerting. Other items were broken or missing and only reported when asked about.
I would suggest that in future when you rent an Airbnb property, you should be mindful that it is someone's home that you are staying and common courtesy goes a long way.
