Our cottage is a secret: so central, but hidden in a pedestrian 'twitten' in North Laine. Inside, there's seaside decor, sociable kitchen-diner, 2 outrageously comfy double beds, 1 sofabed, plus rolltop bath & shower; outside, a sunny garden. Our neighbourhood is the best in Brighton (we're biased): countless indie shops, cafes & restaurants. Walk to the station in 5 minutes: Brighton Pavilion in 6, the beach in 10. Ideal for couples, friends & business stays. You can also borrow our beach hut!
The cottage was built in 1835, and is located on a pedestrian only street: a really surprising feature is that the gardens are across the path from the front door, which means you have a peaceful, green view from the bedrooms (and can see the seagulls).
We've decorated in seaside blues and whites, with reclaimed radiators and Brighton-themed pictures. In winter, the house is super-cosy, while in summer, the garden is perfect for entertaining. The kitchen-diner is sociable - cook and chat with friends or family. The living room/lounge has books, music, TV etc, if you or your other guests want to chill out separately. We have Netflix, Amazon Prime and a huge DVD collection. (To watch live BBC/ITV channels, you'll need to connect your tablet or laptop via wifi, and have a TV license at your home address).
The kitchen is fully equipped with crockery, utensils, glassware, plus a fridge, freezer, small dishwasher and washing machine/tumble dryer.
Both bedrooms are light and airy with super-comfy beds. The master bedroom has a large built-in wardrobe and drawers, while the second double has a hanging rail. The bathroom has a Victorian roll-top bath - glossily resurfaced - and a big, powerful shower over. Please note that there's a high step into the bath, and it can wobble very slightly on the original metal casters, but is completely solid!
Please do note that the original wooden staircase is quite steep so we do not advise you to book if you have very young children or difficulties with stairs.
Disponible para huéspedes
All areas: you'll have the house to yourself, and use of the garden (though was the garden is our passion project, we will need to do some gardening/watering in the warmer months - as the garden is not accessed through the house, we won't need to disturb you). You'll also have access to our lovely beach hut for the day (it's just over a mile's walk away, in Hove).
Atención a los huéspedes
We can help with ideas of where to visit and what to do, but equally, it's your trip, so it's up to you whether you'd like recommendations or not. We do like to say hello when you check-in to answer any questions about the cottage and local area.
Otros aspectos destacables
As noted, the cottage includes steep stairs and a bath with a high step so is not suitable for very young children or if you have trouble with stairs.
Be respectful of the cottage, and our lovely neighbours.
Do not use candles in the house due to the fire risk.
We provide make-up removing wipes, so please use these rather than the towels.
We love beaches, Brighton, Breaking Bad, Barcelona and lots of other things that don't happen to begin with B.
We adore city breaks, country houses with open fires, and we want to invite you to share the things we love about our hometown, from the food, to the people, and the views...
