Wonderful, quiet small farm feel with super respectful hosts (they give you tons of privacy). Strong breeze typically blows through area which makes for great nights sleeping with windows open. Also have a nice overhead fan and AC if needed.

We had a wonderful time at Amanda's bunkhouse. Her puppy greeted us as we parked. Luckily, the weather allowed us to leave the windows open and hear the sounds from the farm. It also was a delight watching the ducks, always joined by a turkey or two, take their many walks. The bunkhouse was comfortable and Amanda left treats for us. This was a lovely stop between the Palouse Falls State Park and the culinary joys to be found at the Manila Bay Café in Dayton, WA. Thanks, Amanda!

Cottage it great, farm and all the animals are wonderful and entertaining. The sunsets around here are absolutely beautiful. However, my first interaction with the host was less than desirable. I was abruptly approached by the host the first morning and demanded extra money for the dogs, no time for introductions or niceties here. Somehow, she was unaware I travel with 3 dogs?! On my profile, it clearly states I am a travel nurse and travel with all 3 dogs. I was charged an additional cleaning fee (which was refunded by the host after my vacancy). I was also asked to not socialize with the puppy, who is wandering free on the property, as it's going to be a work dog. Sure, makes sense; it's a Pyrenees with a job, not your average pet. However, this is a hard rule to follow when said puppy follows you and your dogs around and wants to play. This abrupt and unexpected encounter is provided an incommodious atmosphere for the remainder of our stay. I read the profile and the reviews and had different expectations in regards to the acceptance of our arrival. Don't get me wrong, this could be great place to stay and has had great reviews. I read the profile before booking. The cottage is quaint, surrounded by farmland; its clean, convenient, and has everything you need. Fresh fruit and eggs from the farm were provided upon our arrival, setting a different precedent for our stay. However, if you bring pets, don't assume the host reads your profile and is aware you have a dog, or how many. It makes it uncomfortable for both parties. Lesson learned to us dog people, don't assume the host is truly dog friendly even if it states "pets allowed".

Respuesta de Amanda:
Michelle I appreciate your feedback but would like to point out it is your responsibility as a guest to let hosts know what to expect from you too. And abruptly showing up with 3 huge dogs isn't very considerate behavior on your part. In the future I would encourage you to mention this to future hosts as I probably would have passed on hosting you. Kind regards, Amanda.

Wonderful place! The bunkhouse was comfortable and well-stocked with linens, dishes, and everything we needed. The location was peaceful and private. Perfect place to relax and as a base for hiking in the Wenaha-Tucannon wilderness.

We had a great time at Amanda's place! My daughter loved being out with all the animals especially Annie, Dotty, and, Mocha. It was so pleasant and peaceful out there. The bunkhouse stayed really cool for how hot it was. Amanda did a great job of furnishing everything for us including 1/2 dozen fresh eggs. Thank you, we had a wonderful time!

Amanda is a welcoming host and her property is a blast to explore around. Chickens, cats, horses, and a GIANT friendly pig named Annie made our stay a unique one. The small home is air conditioned and very comfortable. We would highly recommend staying here, and it is 30 minutes from Palouse Falls. Can't beat that!

My husband and I are both professional land surveyors who live and work in Fairbanks, Alaska and Dayton, Washington. We enjoy being outdoors, traveling and exploring new places. As a family we split our time between our homes in Alaska and Washington State.
