Host incorrectly listed the property as a whole apartment.
The property is a actually a room within a Moroccan style house.
While the house style is beautiful, currently, there are obvious cleanliness and maintenance issues to different degrees.
George, the new manager, has just taken over, and I trust many improvements will start to take place soon; thus making up for years of neglect and sheer carelessness from the property owner.
The host had also listed the property's address and directions inaccurately, which made finding the place very difficult. However, George saved the day and greatly improved the conditions of my arrival.
The property is very well located in a quiet residential/commercial area. fairly close to one of the city's main transportation hubs.
Unfortunately, at the time of my stay, according to the host's instructions, I was given no keys to the outside/main house door, so I was forced to ring the doorbell, "no matter what time of day..." to the evident and outspoken annoyance of the night staff, on top of my own personal feelings of awkwardness.
The property rate is cheap when compared to the rates of the surrounding offerings; clearly adjusted to reflect the listing's current numerous shortcomings.
Perhaps it would have been better to initially come out clean with the correct information and allow the guest to make a better decision.
I am very thankful to George, and look forward to visiting again after improvements get made. Godspeed.
