POSITIVE: Overall we had a positive experience at Raccoon 16 and the rental office was helpful and answered our questions. The house is in a cozy, central, quiet neighborhood and the house itself was as pictured (mind you, they use a wide angle lens which can make things look bigger - it was still spacious with high ceilings, though) and nice - they have a bear theme throughout the house which is quite amusing. We retrieved the keys from a box at the rental office in town with no hiccups and were expected to drop them off upon departure which we did. We got great snowfall and Lake Arrowhead is really nice for a few days. I was satisfied and would recommend this holiday experience to others. The house was clean and the neighbors nice. NEGATIVE: On the negative side, we had three cars and the driveway wasn't plowed when we arrived on Christmas Eve and we couldn't get someone until the evening of 26th before we were leaving on 27th morning and had to park in front of the neighbor's driveways. Also, with this listing there is a $150 cleaning fee and when we received the keys, we received a ridiculous list of cleaning instructions for guests before departure that is NOT listed in house rules on Airbnb. You are expected, according to the paper I got with the keys, to scrub toilets, mop, clean out fireplace, vacuum, etc. As well, you are expected to take the trash bags to the local high school only open Sat and Sun or you will be charged $10 per bag you leave behind. Of course, we left it respectfully tidy but this is excessive with $150 cleaning fee and no mention in house rules prior to booking. When I read this when we were leaving I called and objected, they said it doesn't apply to Airbnb guests and not to worry about it - if this is the case they should not give these rules with the keys in the first place. That was the only thing that truly irked me but I think that's more a matter of them updating the house rules they hand out to guests. Couple minor things: The kitchen is equipped with plastic plates and cups and basic cooking supplies, totally fine, but would be nice to get some glasses. We had to buy our own toilet tissue, paper towels, and trash bags, as these were not at the house when we arrived (one roll of toilet tissue, half roll of paper towels, no trashbags to be exact).
