KIPWA Ecolodge & Conservancy is a private get-away, ideal for weekend retreats. Located to the east of Kenya in a unique semi-arid eco-system, it is the same distance as going to Naivasha. A breath-taking site of massive volcanic rocks welcomes you to the premises.
Accommodation at KIPWA house sleeps 6, and comprises of three self-contained cosy bedrooms, kitchen, bar, lounge, and open air terrace.
A well maintained infinity swimming pool is ideal in this environment that is normally hot all year round.
Location KIPWA is located at Yatta plateau, 114Km from Nairobi on the Thika-Garissa road. Coordinates: S It is sandwiched between the Athi and Thika rivers, giving it a Mediterranean micro climate, unlike the rest of the country which is tropical. At 290Km, Yatta Plateau is the world’s longest and oldest fossilized lava flow. It is made up of phonolite lava, which is between 10 and 14 million years old.
KIPWA is currently home to Nile crocodiles, ostrich, vervet monkeys, Sykes monkeys, leopard tortoise and monitor lizards. You are likely to come across a family of Warthogs as you take a nature walk. KIPWA is also home to numerous bird species including; superb sterling, lilac breasted roller, hamerkop, common bulbul, cordon bleu, laughing dove, black headed heron, and drongo. Enjoy the thrill of seeing our young crocodiles in confinement.
Enjoy fishing at the Thika River, as you gaze at a natural waterfall and see fish jumping up the falls
Rock Climbing is a popular two hour expedition that culminates in the scaling of a massive volcanic rock. Not for the faint hearted though!!!!
Astro Tourism (Star watching) is an enthralling experience, and is at its best with crystal clear night skies. At KIPWA, the impeccable skies at night are simply tantalizing, and will indeed be a memorable experience for you. Booking Phone: (Evelyn) Email:
