1. Cuba's laws are very different from the laws of the United States. Generally, the crime level in Cuba is very low, and the authorities want to keep it that way. They are particularly concerned over drug use (including marijuana), solicitation of sex workers, prostitution of minors, and generally any crime of 'moral turpitude' committed by Cubans and/or by tourists and visitors.
Owners of AIRBNB properties are strictly bound by the laws of Cuba. Owners of homes and rooms rented to foreigners have to follow strict rules about the registration of guests. It is strictly PROHIBITED for REGISTERED guest to allow or invite NON REGISTERED guests to stay in the property overnight unless the guest becomes registered BEFORE they are allowed to stay. Stiff penalties, including imprisonment will be imposed on those that are suspected of being part of, or of covering up these types of crimes. If any illegal behavior is suspected, the owner of the property is bound by Cuba's laws to report the incident/behavior to the authorities, and take steps to correct the situation. To register a guest you must call the person that registered you upon arrival BEFORE the person is allowed to stay. Registering an additional guest will add an additional cost of $100 per night, per guest.
Therefore, we hereby give our guests notice that the owners and employees of our property will involve Cuban authorities if any illegal behavior is observed in the property, (including letting guests stay overnight without registering them) and reserve the right to EVICT any guest(s), who violate(s) Cuba's laws, without notice or refund. Any guest found to have violated Cuba's laws will also receive a negative review in the AIRBNB system and will be banned from future reservations in the property.
2. The laws of the United States regarding travel to Cuba prohibits U.S. Citizens to travel to Cuba for the purpose of tourism, but allow travel for individuals and groups who travel for 12 allowed reasons, mainly, family visits; official business of the U.S. government and intergovernmental organizations; journalistic activity; professional research and meetings; educational activities (including 'people-to-people' exchange); religious activities; public performances, clinics, workshops, athletic and other competitions and exhibitions;support of the Cuban people; humanitarian projects; activities of private foundation, research or educational and scientific exchanges; exportation, importation or transmission of information or informational materials; and certain export transactions that may be considered for authorization under existing regulations and guidelines. Your airline or travel agency should assist you to obtain the necessary visa and affidavit of reason for travel before you leave the U.S.

I was born in Cuba and have fallen in love with the country and people of my birth. I hope you will come to love this magical place as much as I do.
