At just 215 km north east of Sydney, getting to Condo 105 @ Horizons Resort for your holiday is as easy as flying into Newcastle or Sydney airport and hiring a car. The drive from Sydney to Condo 105 takes you past some lovely towns and spots including Ettalong Beach, Umina Beach, Berowra, and Ku-Rin-Gai Chase National Park.

Condo 105 is the best place to start your Hunter Valley holiday.

Nelson Bay is just a 7km drive to the east, and is the main town of the Port Stephens region. The calm beaches of the bay are perfect for families to relax, while the coastal beaches as great for surfing and body boarding.

Nelson Bay and Shoal Bay are home to some of the best beaches in the Port Stephens area. There are over 20 beaches including sheltered bays and open ocean beaches which gives you plenty of option for swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, surfing and walking.

If you enjoy diving and snorkelling, the tiny promontory of Fly Point is an aquatic reserve as is Broughton Island where you’ll find what local divers call “The Looking Glass”, a split that runs through the middle of the island and is alive with marine life. There are lot of places for snorkelling and diving for all experience levels, so you don’t need to worry about missing out.

In Nelson Bay you’ll also find the country’s largest coastal dune system which stretches for more than 30 km to the northern reaches of Newcastle, and the Nelson Head Heritage Lighthouse.

Another 2 km to the east, you’ll find Shoal Bay which is an excellent bush walking area. We recommend the walking tracks in Tomaree National Park, which is a 20 km strip between Shoal Bay and Anna Bay. Shoal bay is a great place to head out for a meal and the base for fishing trips and cruises around Port Stephens.

An absolute must-do while you’re staying at Condo 105 is to head out on a whale watching cruise if you are staying during the season. The Port Stephens region is on the annual migration track and you can see whales heading north in June and July and then south again in September to November. The area is also home to large pods of dolphins that you can see from dolphin watch cruises or even while paddling around on a kayak in the bay.

Another must do is swimming with the dolphins. There is only one wild dolphin swim permitted in NSW, and it is in the Port Stephens/Great Lakes Marine Park. The organisers will take you offshore on a 50-ft ocean catamaran where you will get the chance to swim with Short Beaked Common Dolphins and Oceanic Bottle Nosed Dolphins. This is an amazing experience not to be missed.

If you love spending your holidays getting the adrenalin running, then a holiday at Condo 105 @ Horizons Golf Resort is for you. In the area you’ll find go karting, bike hire, horse riding, helicopter joy flights as well as a shark and ray centre. Hit up the sand dunes with some sand boarding, or spend the day on a quad or join a 4WD Safari Tour.

If you are visiting us over a weekend, make sure you book yourself in for a camel ride on the beach. You can book in for an hour long sunset ride, which is a great way to finish off the day. After your camel ride, head back to Horizons Resort and sit back with a glass of wine watching the animals come out at dusk.

If you prefer to keep your feet firmly on soil, you can often see both dolphins and whales from Tomaree National Park Headland.

Tomaree National Park is the backdrop to the towns and villages of Nelson Bay, Shoal Bay, Boat Harbour and Anna Bay and offers coastal bush land, forests and over 20 km of rocky coastline and white sandy beaches. Keep your eyes open for outcrops of the acid volcanic rock, Rhyodacite. It’s a great place for a picnic or a walk – in safe conditions you can walk out to Fingal Island and the lighthouse.

The Port Stephens Visitor Centre is a great place to visit when you arrive to find out more about the attractions in the area.

Salamander Bay is home to some of the most tranquil beaches you’ll find in the NSW Hunter region, making it the perfect holiday destination.

Standard Terms and Conditions of Temporary Holiday Accommodation:

Note: Variances can be agreed on but only by arrangement with the owner in writing.

Full Tariff i.e. 100% is required to secure the booking. Payment constitutes the clients acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

Cancellation if caused by the client, money paid is refundable in full if 5 days notice is given prior to check-in. If less than 5 days notice then there will be $150.00 cancellation fee unless the house is re-let for the entire period.

The owners will make every effort to ensure the property is available as booked. However the owners reserve the right to make alterations to bookings due to unforeseen circumstances.

To maintain a good standard for our guests we require certain conditions to be complied with. We appreciate most will respect our property but the occasional abuse requires that we state the following conditions.

Number of Guests should not exceed the number stated on the Confirmation Notice or subsequently agreed in writing or email. Fees will apply for excess guests not agreed with the owners in advance.

Parties and Functions are strictly prohibited. The price charged is for domestic use only and not commercial. Accordingly this rate does not allow for the extra wear associated with functions in terms of cleaning, garbage removal, wear and tear, repairs etc. Use contrary to this may result in additional payments.

Damage, Breakages, Theft and Loss are the tenants responsibility during their stay.

Departure - the property should be left in a similar state to its condition on arrival. Check-out time is 10 am by the latest, to allow time to prepare property for next guests. Unless if agreed in writing by the owner.

Disturbance to our neighbours, including excessive noise, is prohibited and may result in termination of rental and loss of bond.

Linen is to be supplied by the tenant unless if hired. BYO bed linen i.e. bed sheets, pillow cases, towels and washers. We provide doonas, blankets and pillows. If you want to hire linen, let us know which beds you want and we can get a quote from Tomaree Linen Hire. You will have to make up your own bed.

Pets are not allowed as it is a golf resort.

Loss - the owners take no responsibility for the tenant's personal property.

Variations to these conditions may only be made by prior arrangements with the owner in writing.

David & Hilary's condo is a great location to the first tee. The space is perfect (we were 4 adults). The sofa's are very nice and comfortable for watching TV. Netflix is perfect too. Wifi works well. The restaurant was only open on the Friday evening and cost $145 for 4 main meals and drinks. The course was well worth the golf and cost $210 (2 people with clubs and buggy hire). There is no cooker, although there is a tiny table top oven, BBQ hot plates and a microwave for your convenience. You will need towels. You may like to bring additional toilet rolls and a dishcloth too. Flat (not fitted) bed sheets would be best in case they don't fit well, 1-2 pillowcases each and a duvet cover each. There are extra blankets in the cupboard. The aircon in the living room also heats the living room up well. There is a lovely shopping centre about 5-10 minutes drive by turning right out of the club entrance. There are also Coles and Woolworths there too, as well as fast food outlets and an Asian Fusion take away. Overall, a very comfortable and clean place to stay.

Thanks for sharing your place with us! We enjoy our stay, that we wanted to stay for long. Beautiful scenery is superb! And a bonus encounter with the kangaroos. Kids love it! Kitchen is fully equipped that we manage to cook yummy food for my family and friends. Communication is fantastic as well. David attend all are queries. This is a real catch. The condo is very well maintained and has everything you need. We were on a golf trip so with Horizons first hole a stones throw away it was ideal for us but the condo is also a short distance from salamander bay shops and a short drive to plenty of other nelson bay activities. David and Hillary were really responsive and helpful prior to, and during our stay. I would highly recommend this condo for anyone looking for a Port Stephens getaway.
