Our guesthouse is built with the idea that it would be similar to the viking houses in the old days, a big open space, divided in three parts. It's nothing fancy but all necessity can be found in the guesthouse. In summer we offer riding tours, short and long, in May we have the lambing season. The guesthouse is close to family-friendly activities and has huge outdoors space. The guesthouse is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets)

We loved our (unfortunately only one-night's) stay at this unique guesthouse! The 16 or so beds are able to be partitioned off (using built-in sliding dividers) into three rooms and a central kitchen / eating / bathroom area. You might need an architectural drawing to make the bed and room layout clear; there are several beds on multiple levels, with bunks and lofted sleeping areas throughout the different rooms. For our stay, we were a group of five, and this meant we were able to split off into groups o(URL HIDDEN)1, and all have our own space. Note: some of the walls don't go all the way to the ceiling. This is like a big giant camp house, so extreme privacy isn't on the menu. There's an extra little house with two additional toilets, but the main space itself has one toilet and one shower, in separate rooms, useful if you've got a larger group. We booked an hour-ish long riding tour of the farm with the owners for a reasonable price. The family runs horseback riding tours that last six or eight days into the mountains, but we were just here for the night. It was a great way to arrive and end the day - unpack the car, then hop onto friendly Icelandic horses. The house's yard is part of the farm, too, so sometimes you might look out a window to find a horse wandering by. There's a well-stocked kitchen, with pots and pans and some cooking supplies. Do check best-by dates and judge for yourself to use the supplies; as with many hostel-like kitchens, some of the dry goods had been around a good amount of time when we stayed. The long wooden tables with benches were nice to spread out on - they're meant for large groups as well, so our little party of five felt like we had all the room in the world. Location-wise, this place is well out into the country, which is exactly what we wanted. It's about a 10-15 minute drive from the center of Hella.

Such a beautiful stay! Perfect for both large and small groups. The farm is gorgeous and filled with horses and lambs. There are two sweet dogs and a friendly cat, which made the visit even more special. Definitely book a horse tour when you stay here. It was a favorite part of my trip! Thank you for a wonderful stay!
