My wife and I could not have asked for a better Labor Day weekend getaway. As a young couple from D.C., the house was a much-needed vacation from the hustle and bustle of the city, while still located in close proximity to hiking trails, Early Mountain Vineyard, and a cute family-owned brewery. The house overlooks a fantastic view of the mountains. It has a great porch for entertaining and a beautifully decorated, modern interior. Hugh was a wonderful host. He greeted us with a helpful tour of the property and a great bottle of wine. Throughout the weekend, he checked in with us, offering great recommendations for nearby excursions and restaurants. We will definitely be back!

Hugh was great and so was the cabin. The view was incredible, as was the fireplace and patio. Hugh was incredibly warm and welcoming, and the property and surrounding area was exactly the type of Shenandoah mountain escape I was seeking! Would highly recommend staying here or any of his other properties and I hope to book again one day!

Hugh was a fantastic host. He was available anytime and left us very detailed information of trails, wineries, restaurants and things to do nearby. Hugh really went above and beyond to have the place ready with lots of finishing touches to make us feel welcomed. He also came by and gave us a tour of the mountain on his Gator, where he owns a farm and a few other rental properties! The house (Bluebird Cabin) was absolutely beautiful and unique. The pictures do not do the place justice, as there are quite frankly too many unique features and too many angles show off the house to its fullest. There is a bedroom with a king bed on the main floor, and a spiral staircase leading up to the loft where there is a queen bed. We wanted to get away, enjoy the outdoors and the back deck of this home gave us just that opportunity. As beautiful as the house was, we spent the majority of our time on the very large two-story deck. There is tons of seating, and a great outdoor fireplace to go with the view. We had such a great time at this property and will be coming back!!!!

I am an outdoor person and love the Mountains. Our Virginia Mountain retreat consists of several cabins, a farm house and great access to all the Blue Ridge Mountains have to offer. Our family spends lots of time in the area around this cabin. We enjoy hiking, biking, skiing, running, fishing, wine tasting and viewing the wildlife that we share the mountains with.

As a boy I always dreamed of owning property with a view that had access to Shenandoah National park. My dad used to take me camping in the park along with his Scout troop. I have great memories of hiking with him on the trails in the central portion of the Park that this cabin adjoins. I am drawn to big views and heights and that is why I like this location.

My "day job" is HVAC Contracting. I also own a fine Art Gallery, in Ashland, VA. My enjoyment of working on older homes and my contracting business allow me to fix up these cool old cabins built in the 1970's with all the creature comforts of 2013 and to share them with the public from time to time when our family is not using them. I own and manage properties in Florida, Colorado, and Virginia.

When I travel I like lots of information so we like to make sure our guests know all about the amazing Green County area were this cabin is located. There is so much to see and do. When I host I want my guests to always feel like royalty. Details are important to me and my wife and when we share our cabins we want everything to go perfectly. We are always around to answer questions and make sure that the experience is exceptional!

A few things I really need in life are: beer, wine, altitude, good food, friends, nature, and flip flops. All of this is near when we are in the mountains of VA. We hope to help our Airbnb guests to enjoy all that the Virginia mountain area has to offer.
