WINTER SPECIAL (November- March):
Rent Sunday - Tuesday, get Wednesday for FREE!
Rent Friday and Saturday, get Thursday for FREE!

Reserve ALL the days you plan to stay and we'll adjust the rate after you book. Please note, once the temperature drops below freezing, we have to close the bath house so the pipes don't freeze. An outhouse will be available, but no shower facilities.

HomeGrown HideAways is a hundred acre holler in the beautiful Red Lick Valley near Berea, Ky. We have all the good (beautiful views, babbling brook, hiking trails) and the bad (insects, noisy roosters, poison ivy) that nature has to offer so come prepared. We recommend hiking boots, bug spray, and jackets for cool nights.

Kids 15 and under are no additional charge.

Disponible para huéspedes

Feel free to wander around the farm and check out the scenery. There is a 1.5 mile hiking trail that encompasses the property along with a variety of side-trails (be sure to watch out for poison ivy!). We have a small playground with swings for the kids (and kids at heart). We also have two disc golf baskets and discs plus a croquet set you are welcome to set up. If you're feeling adventurous, our canoe is available for rent.

For your convenience, there is an outbuilding equipped with a phone and kitchen appliances that you are welcome to use as long as you clean up after yourself. We also have 4 fire-pits on the farm (a large, communal one near the pavilion, one near the Yome, an above-ground metal fire-pit in the RV/Treehouse/Glampsite area, and one up on the mountain. We ask that you make use of these instead of making your own, otherwise our farm looks like it has chicken pox from all the ground-fires. You are also welcome to bring your own above-ground fire container such as a grill or patio fire-pit. We have firewood for sale or wood can be gathered for free from our 80 acres of forest.

We have a shared-use bath house for all of our guests that is available from April through October (or whenever temperatures are predicted to fall below freezing). It features 4 flushing toilets and 2 solar-heated showers. We do provide toilet paper, but not towels or toiletries. For our winter guests, we built two outhouses (one near the yome and one in the RV area), but showers will not be available.

At the end of our road (about a half mile past our driveway), there is a small pond with a dock that folks have been known to swim in. In the other direction is a large reservoir that you pass on your way to our farm. The reservoir falls in the jurisdiction of Fish & Wildlife and has No Trespassing signs posted, but no one will report you as long as you aren't being disrespectful and leaving trash everywhere. Locals are often seen boating, fishing, and occasionally swimming, but be aware that there are usually cows upstream and snapping turtles enjoy the locale. We recommend closed-toe shoes or sandals when swimming in ponds.

All of our neighbors are friendly and accustomed to us having frequent guests so feel free to say hello if you see them out and about. Many of them will talk your ear right off with all the stories about our holler.

Atención a los huéspedes

The residents of HomeGrown HideAways recognize that you're probably visiting our farm to escape the daily hustle and bustle of regular life and might be looking for some peace and quiet away from other humans. No worries! While you are likely to see residents puttering around the farm doing chores, you're under no obligation to make chit-chat with us (unless, of course, you need something). On the flip-side, we'll never turn away anyone that wants to keep us company while we weed the garden!

We are a working farm so sometimes you can expect to hear things like tractors, chainsaws, roosters, barking dogs, coyotes, etc. We can't do anything about the roosters or coyotes, but if you want a relaxing afternoon nap in the hammock, just let us know and we'll work on quieter chores.

Otros aspectos destacables

Please leave your pets at home. In addition to the native wildlife, we have dogs, cats, chickens, and roosters to keep you company.

Prepare to UNPLUG. There is no cell phone or internet reception at our place. Occasionally, some folks are able to catch a brief signal, but don't plan to digital access. The closest place to get a decent signal is at the cemetery near the reservoir. There is a telephone you can use in our concession stand.

- The bath-house is available from April through October (or whenever temperatures are predicted to remain above freezing for an extended period of time). It features 4 flushing toilets and 2 solar-heated showers. We do provide toilet paper, but not towels or toiletries. - For your convenience, there is a courtesy kitchen with appliances (fridge, stove, oven, microwave, coffee-maker, sink, some dishes) and a telephone that you are welcome to use. THE FARM DOES NOT HAVE CELL SERVICE OR WIFI.

- We have several fire-pits on the farm for guests to use. Please use these designated areas and do not make your own. We have firewood for sale, but you are also welcome to collect your own for free from the 80 acres of forest surrounding our farm.

- Please leave your pets at home. In addition to the native wildlife, we have dogs, cats, chickens, and a rooster to keep you company. If we're overstocked, the refrigerator in the courtesy kitchen sometimes has farm-fresh eggs available!

Prepare to UNPLUG. No cell service, no wifi, just nature, (but you can still find us on the ol' book o' faces and )!

HomeGrown HideAways is a hundred-acre holler near Berea, Ky. It is owned and operated by Nathan & Jessa Turner, Jessa's mom, and a variety of pets and wildlife.

All guests have access to our courtesy kitchen which has a telephone, COFFEE, and all major appliances (oven, stove, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, sink, and a few dishes). It's nothing glamorous, but it can beat trying to cook on a fire in the rain! If you make arrangements ahead of time, Nathan is a chef and can prepare breakfast ($10-15/person) and/or dinner ($25-30/person) - just let us know! (We encourage you to go into Berea for some of the great lunch offerings there!).

We have hiking trails, several fire pits, and a neighbor's pond for swimming. You can also rent our canoe, but will need to bring life jackets and be able to strap it to your vehicle. One of these days, we'll get around to getting our bikes repaired and you can borrow those as well. We do not have tv, internet, or cell reception. There are as many stars as there are bugs so come prepared for both!

The farm's bath house is open from April through October (or whenever temps remain above freezing for an extended period of time) and features 4 flush toilets and 2 solar-heated showers. Winter guests can use one of our two, luxurious outhouses, but won't have access to showers.

We ask that you leave your pets at home, but you are welcome to snuggle ours (except that rooster - he's a mean one!). The neighbor dogs are likely to come greet you as well, so let us know if they get too friendly and we'll take them back home. :)

We love sharing our beautiful farm and hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
