Autumn has begun to turn the Green Mountains into swaths of flaming red, orange and gold. Come for a visit and enjoy the peaceful quiet of rural Vermont. Your room has a queen-sized bed with a Tempurpedic mattress. A 3/4 bath is adjacent. Downstairs is a private full bath with shower, and a sitting room. We serve a Continental breakfast. Consider a tour of our many local breweries and wineries, or a hike in our scenic Green Mountains. Autumn is a real treat in our corner of New England!
Our home is a genuine old Vermont farmhouse with a comfortable atmosphere. Exposed beams, a stone fireplace and a soapstone wood stove will make you feel cozy and at home. In the summer you can enjoy our outdoor decks and our screened porch , or sit in chairs outside and take in the gardens and the view. In the winter months, a warming fire is always burning. Our floors are a bit warped, and nothing is really straight and level. We hope you'll enjoy our homestead!
Disponible para huéspedes
You will have access to a large portion of our house, much of of it private and for your exclusive use. There are two baths for you to use, a private sitting area, and a smaller sitting area outside of your room. Your hosts have a separate, third bath by their room, so you won't "bump into" us. We value your privacy, yet welcome conversation if you wish.
Atención a los huéspedes
We are available at all times to help with ideas to make your stay more enjoyable, with information on restaurants, activities and routes. Our house has quiet areas where you can relax alone, read a book or watch your favorite shows on Satellite TV. You can take a walk around the "neighborhood" and visit the horses, nearby cows or stroll our country road and enjoy the scenery.

If you visit us in the colder months - actually at any time of year- it's a good idea to pack a sweater, as our house is "genuine" in it's charm and age, and sometimes that means drafts on cold, windy days. But you're always welcome to warm yourself by the wood stove in the living room.
- We currently have two dogs, a shy cat and an active kitten living with us, so we might not be a suitable fit for those with corresponding allergies.
I am a free-lance writer, and my husband Dan is a radio executive. We love our home here in the foothills of the Green Mountains. We have two horses that we ride in the fields and woods nearby. We live with Lily, a small yellow character of a dog, and Aero, a shy white cat. We recently added a new family member, Mighty Max, a kitten who needed a new home, and he's certainly livened up the place!
We both love gardening, animals, kayaking, walking in the woods, and I play an occasional round of golf with Dan. I pretend I do yoga. We enjoy good food, wine, music and time with friends and family.
Life is pretty mellow here in "the 'boro" (Starksboro) and we look forward to meeting new and interesting people and sharing our corner of beautiful Vermont.
