We had a great stay in this house in the Yamabara area of Ishigaki Island. We loved the secluded location, and the view of the sea from our living room and upstairs porch. The house was perfect for our family of 5. There was one bedroom on the ground floor and 2 upstairs. The stairs are a bit scary for toddlers, so we barricaded it with a chair (we prohibited our kids from going to the rooftop as well they were 19 months). The house looked quite new inside and the living room had high ceilings like a loft. Very spacious house if you are used to Japanese standards. The large couch in the middle of the room was great, it fit all of us at once. The beds were comfortable and there were large closets to hang our stuff. It's close to the 2 nicest beaches in Ishigaki, a 10 minute drive to Kabira beach and 5 min to Maibara beach, we also liked the shallow Sukuji beach which was perfect for kids (if you go before ebb tide, in our case in April we had to go before noon or the water receded drastically). But since it's secluded there are only 3 restaurants in Kabira you can get dinner (Setsuka ya - pretty good local food, Sushi place - touristy, and an Okonomiyaki place - didn't get to go). Else you have to drive across the island (25 minutes) to get to Ishigaki town. However, there are great lunch options near by, I especially liked Kusa Bo Bo's lunch curry set (1500 set with great iced coffee and desert), the YaeyamaKatoSoba place (best shrimp soba). You can pick up fresh bread (Japanese style french bread) at the bakery called Tommy's Pan which opens at around 9:40 am within a 2 minute drive as well. Ishigaki had mosquitoes in April, so I would borrow one of those electric mosquito repellants and take spray, and you will be fine. We got the coordinates from Hisayuki so we found the place ok, but it seems like the location on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps is inaccurate, so I would check with him just in case.
