Our daughter got married this weekend and the size of the penthouse was perfect for our needs. We were able to host the getting ready with breakfast catered from Lyfe Kitchen and had plenty of space to spread out. Our guests did need to walk through either bedroom to use the restroom. The terrace space could be so much more functional with some furniture. We were pleased there were two seats. View is phenomenal as is the location of the Dewitt Hotel. The steep winding staircase leading up to the unit was a bit difficult bringing the luggage in and out but we managed. I'm not sure of the age of the Dewitt but the Penthouse looks like an updated Homegoods showroom. Perfect for the space. The beds could be replaced and hopefully that is on a list of things to do for them. The front desk personnel was always friendly and was always staffed. A few tweaks and this place would be five star.. they would just have to figure out how to get the elevator up to the 11th floor :)

Very nice place and great location. the only issue we had was that the laundry machine starts working and then stops when the laundry is wet and then you have to reach the engineer to fix it. But except this it is really a nice place, near by the lake, not too far from the loop and in the middle of merchandise mart. Definitely a nice place

A great place to stay in Chicago. The place is much nicer and spacious in reality tan it shows in the pictures. Very nicely decorated with plenty of space. We were a party of 4, my parents, my husband and I and then my brother and spouse came in for dinner a couple of times. We stayed in for a week and felt like at home away from home. Plenty of space…dining room, living room and a fully equipped kitchen that invited us to cook a couple of times, which was great for my parents… Very conveniently located. Within walking distance to Magnificent Mile, the Water Tower, and John Hancock Building and plenty of things to do along Michigan Avenue…. Hairdryer, shampoo, soap and conditioner like in a hotel was provided. There were plenty of clean towels and wash cloths. There is also a washing machine and a dryer in a very spacious closet for coats. There are 2 TVs with cable and wifi. Friendly and helpful staff in the building. There is also coffee all the time ready to serve in the first floor. Be aware that in the unit, the heating system doesn´t work continuously and turns cold at nights. Also from 2:30am to 6:00am, pipes in the wall bang so loudly that you think someone is getting something fixed right beneath you. Another thing to note is that from the 10th floor, you still have to climb a steep staircase of aprox. 30 steps that lead you to the penthouse. We received help from the staff with the luggage. Be aware of this if someone has trouble with stairs in your group otherwise the place is worth the climb! I would undoubtedly come back!!

A fantastic place to stay in Chicago. It's got a beautiful view. It's very clean and comfortable. We are a family of 5 and it was very nice to have so much space. It's good to note there are steep steps going up to the penthouse. This was not a problem for us but could be if you have trouble with stairs. There was a hairdryer and shampoo and conditioner just like a hotel. There were plenty of clean towels and wash cloths. There were 2 nice TVs with cable. The wifi worked nicely too.

My girlfriend and I typically stay in $300-500/night hotels however this was a little longer trip (5 nights) and we were with another couple so we decided to Airbnb the penthouse. Absolutely fantastic location (11-stars), perfect for walking anywhere. Checking in was a breeze, they can store luggage. Some prior reviews mentioned it was difficult to get into the building after 10 PM but we had key-cards and no problems. The only way up to the penthouse is a short but narrow and winding staircase from the 10th floor (which you take an elevator to). We navigated it with luggage no problem and there are plenty of staff available to help. The decor and renovations are on par with a $200/night hotel but the amount of space is tremendous. The common areas and bedrooms are huge with plenty of room for entertaining lots of visitors or just spreading out. Everything was perfectly clean - the building is very old and has a little bit of that funky smell but nothing out of the ordinary. Some prior reviews complained about the water pressure but everyone in our group found it completely normal. It is a little weird that the TVs are brand new but the signal low-def and doesn't quite match the screen size but they were completely adequate for watching early March Madness games before heading out to a bar for the ones we cared about. All-in-all an amazingly good deal for what we paid.

The location couldn't have been better. It is in walking distance to the John Hancock building and there are tons of things to do on Michigan Avenue! My husband and I went on a trip with my parents and they really enjoyed it as well. Dewitt was very friendly and responded quickly to my emails. Things I loved: The living space and dining room table is a good place to hang out for a family and you don't always get that in a hotel. The location (you can see lake Michigan). Friendly and helpful staff in the building. Lots of extra towels if you don't do the housekeeping. Great Kitchen if you are looking to cook at all during your stay. Keurig machine for coffee (but not coffee was provided so you may want to bring that with you. Although the lobby area had coffee if you would prefer to do that.) The in unit washer and dryer is helpful if you are doing a longer stay and need to wash clothes! Things that could improve: One of the mattresses was starting to slant inward due to the bed frame. It was a comfortable bed but may just need a new frame. The wifi was sometimes slow. There is a Netflix option on the TV and we were going to watch a movie but it wouldn't stream. For regular computer use it works great. Overall I would highly recommend this place!
