This private one bedroom apartment is located a few steps from Carytown and all its amenities... restaurants, boutiques, bars, and shops. The recently renovated space is cozy yet ample and also less than a ten minute drive from University of Richmond, VCU, and downtown Richmond.
Please, FOR YOUR BENEFIT, read the entire listing description and ask any questions you might have :-)
This 800sqft apartment is the private downstairs floor of a historic brick home built in 1916, my wife and I live on the upstairs floor. You enter the house through a shared front door to access a foyer and then there's a separate private door to enter the downstairs apartment. The bedroom has a queen size bed and the couch is an additional sleeping accommodation for one person. (It is not a pullout sofa) You'll find the kitchen equipped with stainless steel appliances, coffee maker and french press, some basic food staples (coffee, flour, salt/pepper, olive oil, etc.) and cookware essentials. The bathroom is what you could politely call 'snug' so if you're a tall/big person you might feel squeezed for space. The finishes include pine and tile flooring, high ceilings, neutral color tones, stone counters, and stainless steel appliances.
Disponible para huéspedes
In addition to the full apartment, you're also welcome to enjoy the available seating on the large covered front porch.
Atención a los huéspedes
I plan to be out of sight and out of mind as they say. Unless there's a pressing issue or extenuating circumstance I will leave keys available for you to check yourself in and out on your own accord.
Otros aspectos destacables
Parking is on street only. The street is a one-way and you can park on either side of the street. It is a rare occurrence that there is not an available parking spot within immediate eyesight of the house.
Please be aware that the bathroom is what you could call 'snug' and if you're over 6'0 tall you might feel a little squeezed for space.
While the house is very comfortable and conveniently located, please note that it is in the heart of the city on a road that does see bursts of traffic at times (namely morning and evening 'rush hour'). You might hear occasional road noise sitting in the living room, but the bedroom does face the rear of the house and a quiet fenced in backyard. Lastly, we make a concerted effort to walk softly and keep noise to a minimum upstairs, but sometimes our furry housemate can get a little rambunctious and you might hear him pitter patter across the floor or knock something over.
The kitchen is fully equipped with cooking essentials, but we would kindly ask that guests refrain from frying or cooking with grease/oil due to the permeance of its smell.
My name is Justin, I live and work in Richmond as a freelance photographer, publicist, and dabbling designer. I'm proud to call this city home and a staunch supporter of all things 'RVA'. Besides being behind a lens or in front of computer, I also have an affinity for neon signs, brutalist architecture, and sitting at the bar when I dine out. If I had a life motto it would probably say something like... experience, learn, and be kind.
