My place is located at the beautiful village of Drakia & it is great for families and couples. If you seek for quite and peaceful vacations Drakia is the ideal destination for you. It’s a village in central Pelion, only 18km away from the capital of Magnesia, Volos, aside from others and invisible from the sea, with lush and verdant vegetation that add natural beauty (many chestnut, walnut, plane and fruit trees).
The Villa is situated near the square of Agios Athanassios Church

Mountain Pelion is located in Central Greece, in the region of Thessaly and specifically in the regional unit of Magnesia. Being in central Greece it gives it a convenient access through various ways. The city of Volos, capital of Magnesia is the reference point for entering Pelion as all villages including Drakia are accessed through it. The village of Drakia is 17,8 klm away from Volos. See below how can you access the city of Volos & Village Drakeia in Pelion :
By Car: Volos is about 326km north of Athens and 215km south of Thessaloniki. It can be accessed through the national highway (A1-E75). From both cities, the highway is well maintained and well signed allowing a safe and trouble free trip.
By Plane: Over the last years, the military airport of Nea Anchialos (VOL) in the outskirts of Volos has been operating civilian flights. Alternatively, the Athens International Airport (ATH) or Thessaloniki International Airport (SKG) can be used from most international destinations to access Greece.
From Athens, Thessaloniki and other major cities operate buses (KTEL) that go to the city of Volos. Currently they are the fastest and most direct way of accessing Volos through public transportation.
For routes and timetables visit the KTEL Volou website.
Volos can be reached also through train. From both Athens and Thessaloniki, Volos is reached through the connecting station of Larissa. It takes 5 hours from Athens and approximately 3 hours from Thessaloniki.
For more detailed timetables and ticketing, please visit National Train Organization website.
Moving to Drakia. As soon as you reach the city of Volos, reaching village Drakie is very easy:
By Car: Driving is the most direct way, as all villages have road access. Pelion has two main roads, the first road that goes through the villages of west Pelion passes through Chania and reaches Zagora and the villages of East Pelion. The second is a coastal road along the Pagasetic passing through the seaside villages and having on the left side the mountainous villages of central Pelion. Once you reach the sea side town of Agria, just turn left and after 10 klm you shall reach the village of Drakeia.
By Bus: The village of Drakeia in Pelion can be accessed from Volos through the municipal buses (KTEL). Bus stops are located close to the village Drakeia main square i.e. near the square of Agios Athanassios and near the square of Agios Nikolaos.
For detailed schedule please visit KTEL Volou website
By Taxi: Taxis in Pelion are not used as in the cities. You will not see them waiting on the road, in order to use a taxi you will have to call the driver and arrange a pickup.
