Thank you for your constructive comments, Lori. I really appreciate that.
FYI, as soon as either of the adjoining rooms is booked, I block the other room on my calendar so that it cannot be booked.
As for the cat odor, that was unfortunate. We had an episode with a new kitten who decided to start 'marking his territory', and he pee'd on a blanket in that large adjoining bedroom that you had to walk through to get to the bathroom. At the same time, my washing machine went on the fritz. We removed the blanket, and it was temporarily put in our large 'walk-in closet in the hallway between your room and the bathroom, until the technician came to fix my washing machine. Unfortunate that you just happened to be there at that time. The cat is now gone to live in the country. The washing machine is now fixed. The blanket is now washed. There is no more odor. Sorry about that.
I knew I would not be here when you checked in. As you said, it was a last-minute booking. But, yes, I made arrangements for my housemate, Diane, to greet you and show you around. I did not think that would be a problem.
