This large bedroom offers a comfy and cozy king size bed, smart tv with netflix, hulu, hbogo, amazon prime, etc, and a long couch. Off of the bedroom is spacious sleeping porch/sunroom. It is fully enclosed, but not heated by the radiators in the rest of the house and can get drafty on a cold day or hot on a warm one. The sleeping porch offers an additional full size bed, small writers desk, and another storage dresser. There is a window fan and space heater in the sleeping porch if you need it.

El alojamiento
An absolutely beautiful 1874 mission style home. There is original woodwork throughout on the trim, doors, staircases and floors. The front of the house was added in the 1920s while the back is part of the original 1874 structure. The updated kitchen was refinished in the last year with tons of prep space on the massive butcher block counter top to prepare and enjoy wonderful meals. There are 35 windows in the house with wonderful natural light abounding and beautiful views of the surrounding hills and mountains; whether you are enjoying the green landscape and blooming lilac and fruit trees in the spring and summer, the glowing yellow and orange foliage in the fall, or the snow covered hills and glistening ice coated tree tops in the winter; the master bedroom offers the best views in the house.

There is a great back porch to have your morning complimentary coffee or tea and listen to the birds sing and crickets chirp. In the summer the pear and apple trees and blackberry bushes and grape vines provide a sweet extra treat.

The house is a quick walk (0.5 miles) to main street and all the wonderful restaurants, coffee shops, and great small town shopping opportunities.

Acceso para huéspedes
Guests have access to their bedroom and sleeping porch and the rest of the home and yard with the exclusion of the other bedrooms, the attic, and backyard garage.

Otros aspectos destacables
While I host with the help of co hosts most of the time, I am sometimes in town and at the house, and when that happens, my 10 year old labradoodle, Doodle, is likely to be there with me. I will give you a heads up prior to your stay if my dog and I will be around.

My home sits at the highest point on the quiet and historic cobble stone covered Frost Avenue. This street was home to the Frost family where the town gets its name. It has some of the most beautiful and historic houses in the area. It is also a very short walk to many of the best local restaurants, pubs, coffee shops and small town shopping, sitting about .5 miles from Main Street. It's also just .75 miles from the Great Allegheny Passage Trail. It is all down hill from the house to the GAP Trail but all Uphill from the Gap Trail to the house, bikers beware.

I love to hike, travel, and swim. I also love trying new foods and experiencing new places and meeting new people. I grew up just outside of D.C. in the suburbs of Herndon, VA. I went to college in Virginia at the University of Mary Washington where I earned a B.A. in English with a concentration in creative writing. After college I thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia. Upon finishing my thru-hike I moved to Hartford, CT for grad school where I earned my M.A. in English for writing, rhetoric and media arts at Trinity College. During my grad school summers I was an ocean rescue lifeguard at Rehoboth Beach in Delaware. After graduate school I took a job working as a head men’ and women’s swim coach at Frostburg State University, a small state university in western Maryland. Five years ago I bought a 150 year old foreclosure that I've fixed up and made my own. I have one a 10 year old labradoodle who is the sweetest dog in the world. I hope you enjoy the charm of my old home as much as I’ve enjoyed fixing it up. My motto is that "nothing lasts forever, so make the most of the moment."
