You’ll love Wrens Nook. It's a stunning, luxury Grade 2 listed historical Cottage, idyllically situated along a Cornish country lane in true Poldark country. It's only accessible by foot.
Pubs, restaurants, the beach and shops are in walking distance and Wrens Nook delivers authentic luxury, far reaching vistas, wonderful sunsets, peace and quiet. The outdoor spaces are gorgeous and our local child friendly beach, Trevaunance Cove, is a 1 mile walk. Ideal for couples or families with kids.
Live like the Poldarks for a week! This is true Poldark country and Wrens Nook is an original Tin Miners Cottage built in the 1700's on a very narrow Cornish country lane which you access on foot. It's got loads of original features including the original sash windows, cupboards, stairs and wood panelling. PLUS we've added a good quality wood burner and a free basket of logs too so that you can cosy up during those Autumn evenings.
Wrens Nook is particularly liked by honeymooners and in fact that is how our parents came across the property back in 1959. It was the start of a real life love story.
There is a double bed in the original 1700's bedroom with a marvellous ensuite attached. There is a really good quality adult double bunk bed and mattresses in the room where the Tin Miners many children used to sleep. Recent renovations included a fabulous garden room, a new kitchen and a smart downstairs bathroom and utility room.
We keep all 11 Poldark novels at the cottage and St Agnes was the inspiration for St Anns and Sawle, the village in the Winston Graham books. Read one while you are at the cottage.
Idyllically situated on a narrow and twisting Cornish Lane that was built for the odd horse and cart, you park on Goonown and begin your holiday with a walk along our lovely Cornish Lane towards the Cottage. You will immediately begin to relax as you see horses, sheep and cows grazing and you take in the long ranging views. It's a holiday where you can get that fit bit working for you! You can walk to pubs, shops and the beach so Wrens Nook offers you a different, more relaxed, view of life.
There is a small parking space for a tiny car at the front of the house but driving down the lane is not for the fainthearted. It is 5ft 5in places and many cars get stuck!

You will enjoy the Cottage and it's fabulous outdoor spaces but please remember that we do have neighbours and we ask you to be respectful about making too much noise.
Kids can happily play in the garden and there are often sheep in the field behind us who are quite inquisitive.
Access to the cottage is down a narrow lane built for horses and carts. Rachael the Housekeeper will meet you at the end of the lane and transport your luggage to the cottage in her tiny car!
Atención a los huéspedes
As we are not on site it's important to let Pete know your estimated time of arrival so that he can share this with the Housekeeper. If your check in day is Friday, Saturday or Monday between 3pm and 6pm - we provide a Meet and Greet option. If you check in on another day of the week, we share a map of where to park, how to walk to the cottage and Pete will be available on the phone to guide you. It's quite straight forward. Once you book and we know what time and day you will arrive we will agree the details. The lane can be muddy in autumn or if there is a lot of rain so bring wellies.
Please be sure read the House Manual when you arrive and call us with any queries. It is kept in the draw under the TV.

We are equal distance from Truro and Newquay.
Truro is a stunning City - quite different from any other in the UK. It has some fabulous restaurants, a bustling farmers market and lots of local and national shops. Visit the cathedral..... and the museum is a must on a rainy day as it's full of interest.
From Truro we often get the ferry down to Falmouth to visit Rick Steins Fish and Chip place or visit the maritime museum and Pendennis castle.
Please keep the bollards in place at all times when the driveway is being used as sometimes vans try to turn in our space and cause damage.
We are based down a narrow Cornish lane. Only small cars can access the parking at the front of the cottage. Guests park on Goonown Lane and begin their holiday by walking down our ancient track/lane or the Housekeeper will drive you down it in her very small car.
We ask our guests to comply with Wrens Nook manual and ensure that the requests are observed by all members of your party.
Please keep and leave the Property and the furnishings in good condition and if you move any items around please put them back in the original place before you leave. An inventory is taken at the end of each visit so that everything is in place for the next guest. Unfortunately we have had a whole cutlery set and some hairdryers go missing - I know - I couldn't believe it either!
The area is very peaceful and we ask guests to be thoughtful about noise because of the adjoining and neighbouring properties.
May we remind you to check that each member of your party is covered by comprehensive travel insurance (including cancellation, flight delays, loss and damage to baggage and other property) and health insurance.
The cottage is designed for four people only and we therefore do not allow any more than 4 people to stay in the cottage. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate pets into the Property because of the sheep in the field behind.
Additional guests may be agreed at the sole discretion of the owner and with a charge of up to £100 per night per person
