When we first found the house it immediately felt like a home that would be filled with happy memories. We hope to share that happy-homey feeling with you during your stay in Kampala.
The house is about a 5 minute walk to the main road, close to good restaurants and in a safe neighborhood.
Our home is a duplex. The other house is filled by a local family with small children. We all look at for each and help one another out and there is usually always someone on the compound to open the gate and let you in.
The home itself has a nice-sized kitchen, a sitting room, 2 bedrooms and one bath. One of the best parts of the home is the back balcony where you can enjoy coffee in the morning, and wine (or Ugandan Waragi if you're in the mood for something stronger) in the evening.
The guest bedroom, or your room if you stay with us, has a queen sized bed and a built-in armoire for your clothes. It's not a large room, but its cozy and has all the necessities, without feeling crowded.
Disponible para huéspedes
Guests would have access to all parts of the house except the main bedroom. In the Kitchen, you would have a shelf in the fridge, one cabinet, and a shelf in the pantry to keep your food. You would also be able to use the gas stove top and household dishes.
There is a flat screen TV in the sitting room with cable TV and a DVD player. We love movies, so there is a huge selection of DVDs to choose from, we also have some books and board games for the rare occasions when the power goes out.

Otros aspectos destacables
The home has a housekeeper who cleans three times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) and will wash and iron your clothes, if your stay overlaps the days she visits.
There is 4G speed internet available at the house but costs an additional 15,000 Uganda Shillings per day of use. We can also recommend some great cafes that have free wifi.
We also have two German Shepherd puppies named Mowgli and Roo. They are about 5 months old (as of January 2017). They stay outside and are rarely in the house. Both are very playful.
I am an American, originally from Chicago, who has been in Kampala since March 2016. In Uganda, I am responsible for managing a road safety project. I've also lived and worked in Laos and Haiti and look for any excuse to be able to travel.
Some of my favorite things to do in Kampala include playing with my dogs, hanging out at my favorite coffee shop or going out to see a live band. I adore living in Kampala and am happy to welcome you to this great city and into my home!
