We’re sorry that you felt as if you were being “parented” during your stay, but you were in someone else’s home. If you had read our Airbnb listing in its entirety, you would have known that guests are not allowed to bring in unapproved visitors or outsiders into the house, which is clearly listed not once, but twice under “Guest Access” and “House Rules.” Furthermore, as a guest in someone else’s home, it’s usually polite to ask to have a friend over and not just tell the host you’re having someone over. We have these policies in place and for good reason. We want to feel safe in our own home.
We are not a hotel, and again, our listing clearly states that you are booking a private room in an apartment. If you had read the first paragraph of our listing you would have seen that our space is listed as a private bedroom complete with its own living space, which is located on the lower level of this OWNER-OCCUPIED residence. The top floor, which is reserved for the host, and the bottom floor, which is reserved for the guest. If you felt uncomfortable using our front door to get to your private living space downstairs, you should have asked if we had a private entrance in your initial message before booking with us.
It is very disappointing to have received such an unwarranted review and we hope that if you continue to use Airbnb, you carefully read a listing before booking, so that you do not put another host in an awkward, or uncomfortable situation.
