A private bedroom with a double bed and adjacent office with a high quality double futon. The rental rate for solar eclipse week 2017 between August 19-23rd is $175.00 nightly with a 3 night minimum and maximum party of 2 ($40.00 nightly for additional people). You will have shared entrance to the house and private access to your bedroom and lots of private space with a desk and reading nooks. Please note, our house is passive solar, so all the floors are concrete, slate or hard floors. You will potentially share a full bathroom. In the main house, you will have access to the kitchen, dining area and living room. The TV with cable is in the shared living room, but we are happy to give up the remote. There are desks available and lots of nooks inside and outside to settle down with a book or just chill out. We have a couple of places for stretching, yoga, and basic exercise but they are not private.
Although we built our home 21 years ago, there are several projects that we are still working on because of other priorities and lessons learned. We raise a lot of our own food and cook mostly from scratch, so we are often busy on the farm, processing or preserving foods. We love learning from our guests and are happy to share what we have learned about sustainability.

The house is passive solar so all floors are concrete or slate, but there are a few rugs. If you have babies and toddlers and the hard floors are a concern, this might not be a good match. Our children grew up in this house and the hard floors were not a problem.
