Our best stop in Croatia! A lovely breezy little home near the sea on a quiet island (just an hour from Trogir by Ferry). The island itself is small (don't need a car) and perfect - olive groves and stone walls fill the interior, the harbour is good for snorkelling and the small beach near Zlatko's house is a white pebble and sand haven. Before 11 am you have it pretty much to yourself and couple of others, before the ferry arrives. The sea is turquoise and clear. We had waves when we were there which I understand is unusual. The beach shack does nice calimari and the restaurant does delicious fish and kebabs (not for the low sodium eater!) There's a tiny island shop and a bakery open in the mornings. But it's good to take over a few essentials/snacks - and maybe torches. Basics like bun bags and soap were there already which is so helpful. The house is smallish but well equipped and comfortable with a nice outdoor area, young garden, shady terrace. One large double and one small double (our two kids wouldn't share it so one ended up on sofa). Air con in the lounge. Zlatko was great at communicating before our trip and met us at the ferry. He organised a little truck to take us to the house (like a ride on mower - great fun!) and his mum left us some really tasty food to set us up. Altogether brilliant for a short stop or a quiet week and we can't wait to return.
