Acerca de este anuncio

A fully renovated and beautiful traditional Irish Cottage on the shores of the idyllic Lough Derg, this is a great countryside getaway ideal for a rural retreat. This 200 year old cottage is warm and cosy and offers wonderful Irish charm.

El lugar

Slattery's Cottage belonged to my family for 35 years as a holiday home - our treasured and idyllic escape from our busy lives in the South East of England. Even after I moved to Ireland in 1988 I still used the cottage as a holiday home where I would visit several times a year to breathe again near my beloved Lough Derg. Sadly we sold the cottage 12 years ago but due a series of miracles I managed to buy it back in 2014 and have turned it into my forever home. I live in the extension to the back of the cottage, but when my kids (who are all adults now) are about their busy lives, the old traditional part of the cottage, which is at least 200 years old, is my retreat and healing centre. On nights when I have no classes or retreat guests I am also offering the space to Airbnb. The accommodation is adjoining my own part of the house but is completely self contained with two small twin/double rooms, a little kitchenette, a shower room and a beautiful sitting room with log burning stove.

Disponible para huéspedes

Guests will have access to the sitting room, your bed room(s), a kitchenette and a shower room with power shower, wash basin and loo.

Atención a los huéspedes

I am usually at home and around but I respect people's need for peace and quiet. I am always available for a chat when I am at home so it's up to my guests how much they want a chat or their own peace and quiet !!

Otros aspectos destacables

I have the world's most friendliest dog who also works with me in the healing centre as a therapy dog. I also have a cat who I try to keep out of the cottage but who knows its his home - and hey - who can argue with a cat. So guests really would have to be pet friendly to stay here and not mind the occasional escapee cat curled up in the sitting room (keep your bedroom doors closed or he could just end up on your bed too!)
I also have six free range organic hens, so eggs are available to buy at €2:50/half dozen

Pippa's beautiful house/BnB is incredible. It has all a traveler could ask for. The place is beautifully renovated, comfortable, close to restaurants/ shopping and is in a wonderful part of Ireland. Pippa herself is kind, intelligent and generous. She provided everything we could have asked for and then some. My girlfriend and I spent two lovely nights here and we are definitely coming back given the chance. Highly recommend.

The cottage is gorgeous, warm and friendly, as is Pippa. We loved our stay, and hope to come back soon to explore the area some more. The cats were a great hit with our girls, like all cats they will take a mile if you let them. Kitchen and facilities small but excellent, and a great stay all round.

I can't say enough good things about Slattery's cottage. It's cosy, yet spacious, beautifully renovated and so charming. I hadn't been to this part of Tipperary before and was honestly blown away by the beauty of the area. The lake is a short walk away and despite rain we fell in love with it. Pippa was so helpful and kind. She's a wonderful host and made us feel incredibly welcome. I hope to visit Slattery's cottage again.

We stayed at this beautiful cottage for 2 nights. It is located in a beautiful area of Tipperary. Our host was wonderful and gave us a great tip for a local pub with music. The cottage was a good size, we were able to use the stove/wood burner and the beds were very comfortable. There was a strong smell of incense which we weren't crazy about, however, and the cottage isn't equipped for doing a lot of cooking, which was a downside for us. Pippa was great to lend us a pot from her house, however, so we could still prepare a meal.

Respuesta de Pippa:
I am so sorry you were disappointed with the small kitchenette but as I live in the same house I am more than willing to equip you with any utensils you may require. No guest has ever wanted to cook a full meal in there before but I will take your comments on board. As for the slight smell of incense, as stated in all my literature, I run the cottage as a healing centre so candles and incense are burnt in there. However, I always open all windows and doors for a good airing before Airbnb guests arrive but I apologise for any lingering smell.

Great Host A beautiful little cottage in a quite area perfect for the relaxing weekend away we were looking for The area is lovely and perfect for walkers. The local pub (about a 30 mins walk or 5 min drive away) was just great with good food. Pippa is a warm and welcoming host and the accommodation which had 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bed was very comfortable and very well laid out. Also there's a friendly dog and 2 cats which is a bonus. Thanks Pippa for a great stay

Since I first discovered the joy of meditation at a Buddhist Retreat Centre in West Cork I have been on my own continuous journey of discovery, healing, and spiritual exploration. Over twenty years I have studied and qualified with many great teachers in the field of holistic well-being.

I believe that to be truly well, we need to address our Mind, Heart, Body and Spirit. Most of us experience at least one of these precious 'centres' being out of alignment at any one time. Wellness is not about perfection - it is about noticing when something is not right, paying attention to what we need, and focussing on becoming balanced and well. This way, we are able to develop greater personal response-ability, and make better choices when we find ourselves re-acting to other people and our circumstances.

I was born in England to parents who, between them, had a healthy mix of English, Irish and Scottish blood. I was raised with a love of all three countries, and have always had a strong Celtic connection to nature and spirit.

I balance my life as a teacher, writer, healer and mother of three beautiful grown-up children. I have recently moved from West Cork to the beautiful and nurturing area of Lough Derg in North Tipperary. I am surrounded by hills and the lake is only a couple of miles away across the fields. I am a great believer in sustainable living and eating a wholesome, organic and free range diet as much as possible.

I am qualified with a Mastery training in Cellular Healing and Rebirthing. As you will read from my healing page, my work has transformed from the traditional rebirthing that I trained with, into an organic fusion of using the sacred breath with shamanic and psychic abilities, turning the energy work into something of my own.

When I moved to Tipperary I was blessed with being able to buy back my old family holiday cottage. Over the past year I have lovingly restored the old cottage and added on an extension looking out over the lake. I have turned the original 200 year old cottage into a small retreat centre and healing room and I am opening up the centre as a place where people can come and heal, learn, meditate, get back in touch with themselves and above all, learn to breathe again. As well as running the retreat centre, I am also offering my Beyond Breath healing sessions, energy rebalancing as well as teaching meditation. I hold meditation healing classes and psychic and mediumship circles every week and offer mediumship and\or psychic readings privately, details of which you will find on my Mediumship page. I am currently writing a book on the benefits of meditation and write and produce my own guided meditations.

When my centre is not busy i open the space up for paying guests.
