Spacious four bedroom house on 50 acres. Private shared beach access to Brant Lake located less than mile 1 down the road from the home. Located within minutes to three public beaches and boat launches.
This property is in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains and is centrally located to everything.
This property has a ton of open outdoor space for your family to explore.
The house is the second largest of the three homes that are on this property all owned by us.

Reglas de la casa

1 Parking - Park near the red barn or against the guest house. If you are trailering a motorized boat, please park it alongside the guest house (the side with the hose.)
2 Lake Access - The beach is located less than a mile down Pease Hill Road. There is a small green structure near the road. Park on the side of the road and not in the gravel pull in. We are one of three owners of the lake property - please be respectful of the other property owners. Please do not go on the docks (and do not allow children to run on the docks.) Please do not enter the green building (there is not a working bathroom in the building.) Starting in July, there is a rented port-a-potty in the back of the cabin that can be used by guests. When facing the lake, our property line is between the flag pole to the left and the end of the last dock slip on the right. The swim dock to the left is not ours. Please do not use it. We own the green canoe next to the cabin; paddles are in the canoe with life jackets in a Rubbermaid bin next to the canoe. Please do not use the paddle boat or the stand up paddle board as they are not ours.
3 House Access - Lock box is next to the entrance located on the stone patio.
4 Lock Box - Lock box code will be given the day before you arrive - Take out key to open door but return the key to the lock box so we can access the house in the event of an emergency. (You must re-enter code to close cover.) There are three sets of keys on a hook as you enter the house for your use. Please return keys to hooks prior to departure.
5 Basic notes - This house is on a septic system. Please do not put condoms, tampons, diapers, wipes, paper towels or grease down the toilet or drains (Failure to do so could result in instant back up of sewage and a short lived vacation.) Please only use the septic safe toilet paper provided. Please do not wear shoes in the house – there are light colored carpets throughout.
6 Light switches - Two switches control the corner lamp in the living room; one near the back door in the kitchen the other in the downstairs hall near the bathroom. All of the closet lights in the bedrooms work but the main bedroom light switches need to be on. Please help us conserve energy by turning off lights in rooms that you are not using.
7 Phone - There is one cordless phone in living room. The phone is connected to the main house and is there for emergencies or if your cell gets no service through the Wi-Fi calling. The ringer is off on that phone as it is our house phone. Feel free to use this phone but look at the display to see if it is in use (we will do the same.)
8 Air conditioning - Please turn AC units off when you are not home to conserve electricity. Please make sure that all windows are closed if you are using the air conditioning.
9 Trash/Recycling - Place any trash in the two receptacles outside of the main entrance. We also ask that you place any recycling/returnables in the designated container outside of the main entrance.
10 House Book - There is a green binder house book with info on the area and attractions. Please leave this book when you leave for future guests.
11 Storage - Please let us know if you wish to store kayaks or any recreational equipment in the garage or barn.
12 Hiking Trail - The trail head to the view of Brant Lake starts near the garage behind the guest house. This trail is approximately a quarter of a mile and connects to other hiking trails, some of which lead down to Palisades Road (the road that goes around Brant Lake.) Please be careful on the trails – there are rocks, roots and tree branches to watch out for.
13 Gas Grill - If you intend on using the gas grill please use proper caution and turn the gas off at the tank after each use. There are grill tools in a grey container on a shelf in the utility room (door next to the dining table, hot water heater is in the room.)
14 Fire Pit - A metal fire pit is provided on the stone patio and there is ample wood for you to use on the property. Please do not use the seasoned hardwood that is under the tarps behind the house for the firepit – this wood is for our indoor fireplace and not for outdoor burning. Please do not use any igniters such as lighter fluid or gasoline to light the fire -- all of the stores in the area sell safe fire starters if you require them. Please make sure that your fire is contained safely in the fire pit and that you extinguish your fire when you are finished.
15 Candles - Please do not burn any candles or incense in the house.
16 Dogs – Please do not allow dogs on the furniture. Please clean up any dog waste on the property (including the trails) and deposit in the garbage cans outside the main entrance.

Darren's cabin is a lovely place and was a great mountain escape for the weekend. I recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy the Adirondacks in a quiet and peaceful setting. The cabin was clean and contained everything we hoped for.

Good stay overall. Living room/dining area is small. Wifi is in and out. We lost wifi 3 times in 4 days.

The walk to the overlook was beautiful, as well as the overlook itself. We walked it everyday we were there. The firepit was fun and we also used it every night. The kids loved having the big room upstairs with the TV. We had a great time!

Great location! Nice house but not enough towels so you have to bring some. Make sure you know the strict lake rules because it was awkward. Wifi isn't the greatest.

We didn't spend a lot of time there but I would have loved to explore the area around the house and enjoy a fire in the fire pit. Darren was very responsive whenever I had a question. The bedrooms were very spacious.

I am a Executive Chef in the Albany N.Y. Area and my wife is a Chemistry Professor.
After years of vacationing in the Adirondacks and renting other properties we decided we would like to share this experience with others as hosts. In 2016 we purchased "The Roost" -- a town of Brant Lake property that had been in the same family for 40 years.
