Yes the house is a beautiful house in the country as confirmed in a text from you after arrival. There were no ants on arrival when this group was shown in by my Pool Cleaner and no sign of any ants whatsoever inside the house on their check out 6 days later, attended by me personally. One example of the 'Plague' complaint was a line of ants going about their business by the BBQ! 5ft from the outdoor table and chairs, and 5ft from the bbq itself! It is astounding that they claim they could not have possibly used this area during their stay and I told them I didn't agree with what they were saying. When Isabel's daughter asked for help regarding ants in the kitchen it was a simple matter of directing them to the available spray which easily brings them under control with immediate effect which they admitted soon afterwards. Ants appear on surfaces left un-wiped, to food left exposed, too dishwashers left open and are attracted to the smell of other dead insects. Villa stays mean clearing up after yourself unless a maid is included! For further help I directed them to a supply of traps and contacted them at the end of the day to ask again if they needed further help. I also asked them to send a photo or 2 so that I could understand if I should ask a contact to visit even though I knew this would be unlikely having owned and run the villa for 15 years. Indeed I did not hear from them again and did not receive photos of this terrible situation! With regards to the cracked glass top table, firstly they tried to hide it with a basket, then they claimed it was like it on arrival, however they did not mention it to me on any occasion, even allowing their 2 young children to be around it for 6 days! It clearly would not have been left cracked on arrival due to health and safety. My pool cleaner had arranged the welcome basket full of wonderful goodies (with my help over the phone) one hour before their arrival and always positioned on said table. Since they have paid a sum for this breakage tells all. Unfortunately following this breakage during their stay, they, (or someone) went on the holy grail of trying to find something to complain about hoping I might turn a blind eye. Sorry, the behaviour on the point of being nasty and the dishonesty quite frankly tells me everything and tells anyone else reading this review the exact circumstances of their stay. I am not surprised they feel bad about this matter (as they put it). They should have just informed me of the breakage and enjoyed their holiday. Their request for a one day compensation was declined.
