I am very surprised to read this. Much of what is written above is inaccurate, a couple of things are, and some of it is simply untrue.
Aaron travels with a dog AND a cat, which is unusual for a short-term renter. We expressed our concern for pet hair and dander prior to his acceptance, and HE is the one who said he would cover the furniture! Here is a DIRECT quote from his email to us, asking us to accept him, his girlfriend, and his pets: "All of our recent trips have been with both of our pets. In the places we stay we usually cover the furniture with sheets to prevent hair build up. We also bring multiple cat scratchers to place around the house and the cat knows to only scratch those." Those were HIS words, not ours! As for the rug that he rolled up, he asked us to come over and pick it up. We told him there was a storage unit just below him to put it in during his stay, so it would remain with the unit upon his departure. Why he mentions this as an issue is perplexing.
When we had the unit cleaned upon his departure, the ball of pet hair we removed was LITERALLY the size of a baseball! If there was a way to post the pic of that monumental hairball here, the review above would surely be removed.
Aaron's claim that he dealt with a 3rd party is bizarre...There IS no one else. I am the owner, and I am the ONLY one he ever interacted with about anything pertaining to his stay in this condo. Completely fabricated. Very strange thing to write. ??
Aaron's last words to us were in a text, and they said, "Thank you for everything, we had a great stay!" I left him a nice review, because I didn't want to say anything negative that would harm his future travels unless there was a huge reason to. Now I wish I had told the story and posted the pic of the hairball that ate Manhattan! Unless you are prepared for a VERY deep-cleaning, and MAJOR dander and pet hair removal, think twice before approving. :(
He is right, the place is indeed great. He was also right, some of the pics had not been updated, as we had just added a few upgrades to the unit to make it even more desirable. When he arrived, he was pleasantly surprised that it was even more lovely than he had seen and expected. Why this ended up as a negative, again, seems very strangely critical.
The review above is very discouraging. I am a proactive, conscientious host, and take great pride in presenting a beautiful home to any traveler. I designed and decorated the property myself, and take great pride in it, and it truly pleases me to make people happy with the gift of hospitality. When someone reports something strange and negative like the above, it sure takes the fun out of it. :(
