What a complete over reaction, on all fronts. They didn't wait 45 minutes at all. They had went to the wrong door, but the whole time I was waiting in the apartment, and had been trying to contact them (for well over an hour).
The stairwell OUTSIDE the apartment, has had some historical flooding, and is due for renovation in September/October.
As with anywhere in Europe, and indeed the rest of the Old World, many stairs and buildings are well over 100 years old, and so may not be appear so new. This is however outside the apartment, and is very common in Scotland, and indeed, as many people would agree, most of the old world.
The apartment itself is very clean, all linen is brand new and cleaned (of course between guests). There are live-in cleaners, who are constantly cleaning the place. These guests did not pay hotel prices, that is absurd. They paid very fair prices, well below the market average, and were given a very fair service.
The apartment is not 20 minutes walk from the town centre, also.
Princes Street extends from the very street that the apartment is situated. Princes Street and the New Town are literally 5-10 mins walk.
I have already taken steps to refund these guests (like i always do, if someone feels they are dissatisfied with any element of their stay), despite there being no misinformation or poor description, in my opinion. Therefore this out and out attack of a review, is simply needless and uncalled for.
