My beautiful 17C thatched cottage with it's pretty enclosed garden and vine covered terrace is centrally placed in the lovely village of Dolton close to the church and square and I can offer all year round bed and breakfast in two double bedrooms or the entire cottage self catering during holidays, May until end of September. Bed and breakfast is £60 per double room per night and the entire cottage is from £100 per night, minimum stay 4 nights for entire cottage, sleeping 7.
The cottage is very spacious and light with beams, two inglenook fireplaces and a farmhouse kitchen with Aga. There's a large entrance hall, dining room, study, sitting room, utility room and downstairs family bathroom. Upstairs a spacious main bedroom with double bed overlooks the garden and has a large ensuite , two spacious doubles with brass beds and each with a handbasin and a small bedroom with king single bed. There is also an upstairs lavatory in the hall. The pretty rear garden has a terrace, vine covered for outside dining and a lawn with shrubs and flower borders , a barbecue area and summer house. There is also a pond with fish so toddlers and small children should always be accompanied outside. Parking is nearby in the square and is free. You may park one car outside on the forecourt and extra cars on the street free or in the square free and just 100 metres from Mead Cottage.

Claude, my elderly french cat, resides at Mead cottage and comes and goes through his cat flap. If you are booking the whole cottage in the holiday season then he will be in residence if you aprove. He's very friendly, extremely deaf and spends most of the time asleep in the shed but would like to be fed twice a day if you would be so kind. Food provided. If you have an allergy or would prefer not to have him stay please let me know in good time to book his stay in a cattery.
Please refrain from smoking both in the cottage and garden. The woodburner can be lit if you feel the need but please follow the instructions which will be left in the sitting room to comply with thatch insurance. I'm sorry but pets are not allowed.
The cottage has a pond in the garden with fish so small children and toddlers should always be accompanied by a responsible adult. The stairs are also quite steep and there are several steps inside so that anyone with mobility difficulties may find this a challenge.
The upstairs toilets are Saniflos and can only tolerate toilet paper. Should any problem arise and it is found that other items have been flushed then the guests will be held responsible for plumbers call out and repair.
