Sweeping Sunset Getaway boasts a sweeping million-dollar (150 degree) west view from a huge (appx 700 sf) deck facing Mutiny Bay/Admiralty Inlet! Lots of marine traffic, wildlife/birds, mountains, and SPECTACULAR sunrises/sunsets! Perfect for couples, singles, and families. A gated west deck and east yard are convenient for kids. Twenty minutes from the ferry, you're close to outdoor activities, beaches, farmer's markets, restaurants, art/wine tours, national treasures, tranquility & more!
Sweeping Sunset Getaway is all about the view – sunsets, sunrises, mountains, marine traffic, wildlife – and the serenity they each provide. We often joke that we “bought a deck” because that’s our favorite place to be -– especially watching those spectacular sunsets!
The house itself, while it may not immediately look like it, is actually a log cabin, perched perfectly on the southern bank of Mutiny Bay. As you look onto the water, you seldom see the houses below – giving you the feel of a high-bank water front home. The inside the house rarely gets hot so there is no need for air conditioning. By simply opening a window or two the fresh breeze off the ocean cools things down nicely. Although, we do have fans available for your use if you desire them.
The kitchen, dining area and living room are interactive and very functional. Its original fireplace (non-functioning), oven and cupboards add charm and character and the low window sills offer expanded viewing areas.
The master bedroom, called Master’s View, is very spacious (approx. 250 sf) and includes an office area with a small desk and rocking chair. The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms, called The Bay View and The Garden View, are on the other end of the house and have the bathroom located in between them.
There is a high efficiency washer and dryer available for your use as well. Just understand that the house has a small hot water tank so plan accordingly between showers and washing clothes and dishes.

The House: The house is 1,158 square feet and you will have access to all rooms within the house. It is important to note that there is a fireplace that was not listed and is not for use. There are also a few private (locked) cupboards for owner’s supplies. The garage is for the owners storage and therefore not listed as part of the rental.
In winter months, deck furniture will be limited - meaning not as much as shown in the photos.
The Garden: I typically plant a garden. What food is there and ready to harvest while you are visiting will depend upon the time of year and weather. We are happy to share some with you, but please only take what you will eat during your stay with us. Most importantly, be gentle on the plants when you are in there as some are easily damaged. There is a "timer" set to automatically water the garden, so please be sure to not change it. Thank you!
Atención a los huéspedes
We want to make sure you enjoy yourselves! So, I will be available to you as much as possible throughout your stay via phone or email. I also have a local housekeeper who may be available in person should the need arise.

Quirks of the house:
1. It has a smaller hot water tank, so if you like long showers, you'll need to space them out by about 20-30 minutes. Or, you can take two quicker showers if you prefer. Keep this in mind when you need to wash clothes and/or dishes.
2. The light under the counter (above the kitchen sink) can be turned on by having the switch above the sink turned up and then depressing (and holding) the switch on the light itself (that's located under the counter's ledge above the sink). It's a little "odd" but once you look at it you'll understand how to use it.
3. The switch for the garbage disposal is under the kitchen sink - on the right. This neighborhood, as are most on the Island, is on a septic system so please minimize what you put down the disposal.
Must be respectful to neighbors.
Do not damage garden.
Do not adjust the water spigot for garden or the timer. This keeps the garden plants alive.
No hunting wildlife.
No burning fire in fireplace.
Put the key back upon check out to avoid a replacement fee.
Please respect the neighbor’s privacy and property.
Due to the septic system, only flush human waste and toilet paper down the toilet.
Do not flush tampons, condoms, baby/adult wipes, paper towels, etc. down the toilet as it will cause damage.
Prompt check-out is expected, unless pre-approved in writing, to allow adequate cleaning time prior to the next guest arriving.
My husband and I are an honest, respectful, and fun-loving couple who love to travel - especially to sporting events. We love meeting people and their dogs! Our motto: "Live for today. Tomorrow is not guaranteed."
