GREAT LOCATION!
Located in lovely Presidio Heights; the Haight District, Marina District, Fillmore Street, Union Street, and Clement Street are an easy walk or quick bus ride away.

The flat is located just 4 blocks from the Presidio, a pristine and forested park-like area that is great for the runner, bicycler, walker, or nature lover. In addition, there are free tennis courts and playgrounds (play soccer, Frisbee, baseball, football, etc.), and weekly activities like free Shakespeare performances and weekly food trucks with music.

Great lodging / housing / accommodation for the long-term traveler, student, intern, house-hunting transplant, professor on sabbatical, traveling physician or nurse, and others who prefer a living arrangement in a fully-furnished, warm and inviting home environment that includes light cleaning and weekly linen washing.

This location has easy access to all the sights in San Francisco - public transportation is just a block and a half away, to get you anywhere in the city. The FREE shuttle service for all of the UCSF campuses is just a block away. Lyft Line and Uber Pool are great options for an inexpensive shared car ride. MUNI buses are less than 2 blocks away. The private buses for many of the popular south bay companies (like 6006LE, Apple, Dropbox, etc.) are easily accessible from this location. If you will be commuting to the south side of the city or beyond, please check info below in GETTING AROUND.

ABOUT YOU
This accommodation is best for people who don't really cook. You have access to a great convection oven and microwave for baking, toasting, and heating. There is an electric teakettle, French coffee press, and your own fridge. You have access to plates, bowls, flatware, glasses, mugs, and pans for the convection oven. No stove-top cooking.

My ideal guest has a schedule / occupation / internship during the work week, Monday through Friday, such that they are generally not home during the day. I will sometimes use the living room or kitchen during the weekdays, from around 9 AM to 5 PM. I prefer to have the space to myself during these times, if possible. I'm flexible, so let me know if your hours during the work week are different and I will try to accommodate you.

ABOUT THE FLAT

This beautiful Edwardian flat has been in an ongoing process of refinishing to expose the natural wood crown moldings, built-in cabinets, baseboards, and original 1909 Douglass fir doors. Quiet and cozy, with wool area rugs, exposed woodwork trim, high ceilings, and large, southern-exposure windows in all rooms except the bathroom (which has west-facing windows).

There is free high-speed Wi-Fi service.

There is forced hot air heating (and space heaters in each room), an intercom system, and two washers and dryers in an upstairs laundry room.

The flat is usually around 68 degrees F or warmer. You are welcome to use the space heaters in your room with the door closed if you prefer a really warm environment.

As a note, this flat is on the second floor, so there are five steps up to the entrance, then additional stairs inside the flat leading to the main level.

There are cotton pads for makeup removal, cotton swabs, and body lotion for your use, as well as shampoo, conditioner, and bath gel. You also get a shower toiletry bag for your own supplies.

Although the bathroom is shared, you will feel like it is just for you, as the bathroom is kept meticulously neat and clean, and I can accommodate any schedule.

Atención a los huéspedes

I'm an independent contractor, often involved in a project in my office. I enjoy watching movies, so I'm occasionally in the living room in the evening streaming Netflix or watching a DVD.

I am happy to suggest places to eat and things to do, and will give you a great walking tour of the neighborhood to get you acquainted with the area.

* * * AIRBNB GUEST REVIEWS * * *

I was previously an AirBnB host. When I deleted and re-created my listing (for the same apartment) my reviews were lost.

I have copies of all 16 of my 5 out of 5 star reviews. Here are just a few:

DEEPALI
Stas's home is as described in the listing and you get a lot more than the listing. Check-in was a breeze. Stas was there to let me in. We had arranged on a time that would work for both of us. She showed me around the house and got me acquainted with the rules. Her place is bright, very welcoming, and extremely clean. The bed was very comfortable and the room very quiet. There is plenty of closet space and a desk to use. Internet connection is very fast. Shoes remain at the door and slippers are provided to use in the house. The place was cleaned weekly and fresh linens provided. Even though the bathroom is shared, it is spotless. I had a separate refrigerator, my own cabinet to store things in the kitchen... I was concerned about finding parking near her house but had no trouble finding a spot just below her condo every night that I stayed at her place. Of course my schedule made it relatively easy to. Stas is an excellent host, easy to communicate with, very friendly and genuinely interested that I had an enjoyable stay. The neighborhood is very safe with some great restaurants walking distance from her place. I enjoyed getting back "home" every night. We had some great conversations over wine. Her parrot, Luna, is adorable.

PHILIP
Stas is an excellent host! I'm a light sleeper and my schedule is a bit particular but the room was amazing, comfortable, bright and had a white noise generator that I could use to get to sleep. The room is actually so quiet I didn't actually need it, but it was still nice to have. The bed is super comfortable and big enough to sprawl out on, even at 6'3. Moreover, Stas helped me get oriented in San Francisco and helped me get set up which cut the adjustment phase to the city. The apartment is well located as well, the Presidio park is a stone’s throw away but getting into downtown is simple via public transport. To anyone who's arriving in San Francisco and doesn't know the city or anyone in it, stay with Stas. Her place is restful and calm but still central, and she's an excellent host who can help newcomers get acquainted with the city and the people in it. She's helpful, full of energy and sweet to a fault. I can't recommend both her place or her as a host enough.

MEAGAN
I literally could not have asked for a better stay during the three months I was in SF. Stas is great! Extremely warm and welcoming and genuinely interested in making sure that your stay is comfortable, relaxing, and enjoyable . She was also really good about giving suggestions about things to do and see in the city. Her parrot Luna is also great company and a joy to have around. The listing is spot on and you really do get everything she describes and so much more! Separate fridge, clean environment, comfortable bed, amazing views, quiet/safe neighborhood, easy access to public transit, grocery in walking distance, fitness center membership options, and delicious restaurants and nightlife nearby! I would definitely stay with Stas again if I was ever in the neighborhood and would highly recommend her to anyone. Her place provides the perfect combination of city life and a quiet neighborhood.

Please have a clear photo of your face in your profile so when you arrive I know that you are the person who booked the room.
Also, please include some information about you (interests, hobbies, work, etc.).

CHECK-IN
Check-in is 24-Hour, meaning I can welcome people at odd hours, any time of day or night, with prior agreement. For example, I can accommodate very early morning (e.g. 2 AM) or very late evening arrivals (e.g. 11 PM). I REQUIRE ADVANCE COORDINATION for your arrival, as I may have an appointment or work commitment during the hour that you want to arrive. The earlier you let me know your arrival time, the more likely I can arrange my schedule to suit your arrival so you won't have to wait to get settled in.

REFUND POLICY is STRICT
Please read the fine print about the refund policy and let me know if you have any questions.

PETS
Pets are not allowed as there is a sweet bird (Luna) kept in my office most of the time, though she will accompany me when I watch a movie or use the kitchen. If you have any questions at all about Luna, please ask.

Please feel free to ask me any questions you have about the household and/or house rules before you book. I'm very easy-going and communicative. I want you to have a most enjoyable stay!

This is a relaxed and cozy flat, and perfect for people who are conscientious and easy-going. Respect for house rules, cleanliness and tidiness are important. I clean up after myself and my guests do, too. The golden rule: "leave the space the way you find it"

No cooking, but access to convection oven and microwave (for baking and heating), your own refrigerator, an electric teakettle, French press coffee maker, glasses, mugs, dishes, flatware, and cabinet space for groceries.

When you arrive I will give you a new pair of slippers to wear inside the flat.

* NON-SMOKERS (all types) only*

KITCHEN AND BATHROOM
It is very important that these two areas in particular be kept clean and tidy. I expect guests to clean up after themselves as needed; counters wiped, sink/tub rinsed/wiped, spills cleaned, things put away, etc.

YOUR SCHEDULE
If your schedule runs outside a standard weekly work schedule, please SEND A MESSAGE before you book and I will try to accommodate your schedule :)

Unless we agree to to a different arrangement, guests have a typical work week schedule (leave around 8 AM, return around 6 PM, Monday through Friday). Saturdays and Sundays, anything goes!

PET SITTER
I sometimes travel and I have a trusted male pet sitter who stays overnight in my room while I'm gone and takes care of my bird, plants, and cleaning. He is a digital designer. You will get to meet him before I make any plans.

SOUND and QUIET HOURS
I sometimes practice singing jazz standards and I will always attempt to coordinate with you so that I do not disturb you.

I occasionally have music get-togethers in my living room with other musicians and I will always coordinate with you in advance. You are welcome to join in if you play an instrument, or sit in and enjoy the music.

We generally abide by quiet hours from 10 PM to 8 AM during the work week and 11 PM to 9 AM on the weekends.

WORK SESSIONS
I occasionally perform work sessions in my living room. I will always give you advance notice. During this time you won't be able to use the living room for about 2 hours. I try to schedule these during the weekdays as much as possible, but on a rare occasion I must schedule on a weeknight or weekend time time window.

Aspectos que también debes tener en cuenta
Es necesario utilizar las escaleras - 5 steps up to the front door and then a split staircase (5 then 12 steps) up to the main level.
Puede haber ruido - San Francisco has weekly street sweeping + trash/recycling pickup
Hay mascotas en la propiedad - There is a very sweet bird who is housed in my office.
No se puede estacionar en la propiedad - Street parking. Some areas require parking permit to leave car for more than 2 or 3 hours. Street cleaning requires moving car periodically.
Hay zonas comunes que se comparten - Bathroom: I'm very accommodating and I keep it very clean. My guests who would otherwise prefer to have their own bathroom have been happy.
