El alojamiento
We are offering what was our home for the last 34 years for short term rentals.

Acceso para huéspedes
We are currently offering for your exclusive possession the lower floor of the house only, which is approximately 1800 square feet (not including porches) consisting of a fully furnished living room, formal dining room, kitchen with all appliances, including a dishwasher, service porch with washer and dryer, three large bedrooms - two with large walk in closets and sinks (unusual for the period) and two bathrooms, one with a large tile tub en suite to the master bedroom, the main bath with shower. The master bedroom has a comfortable king size bed and the second a comfortable queen. The study/ bedroom 3 has a comfortable queen size bed and free standing armoire. BLOCKED MONDAYS ON OUR CALENDAR: Please note that every other Monday on our calendar is blocked out. This is for the convenience of our housekeepers who do a regularly scheduled major cleaning on those Mondays. Upon request, and if possible, we may be able to lift those blocks to accommodate a longer stay. In making the request, you should request to book other available dates, indicating in the request the actual dates in which you are interested. Note the house is thoroughly cleaned on those dates and between every stay. Our housekeepers wear masks and rubber gloves during those cleanings and wipe down all hard surfaces with a bleach solution. Hand soap is provided at every sink - there are 6 sinks in the house.

DATES BLOCKED BY OUR COUNTY HEALTH OFFICER: Due to the pandemic, and at the direction of our County Health Officer, Airbnb has blocked the last two weeks in April and the first two weeks in May, 2020. This may be extended to all of May 2020. In anticipation that the County may extend to the end of May, we are not accepting any reservations for May 2020.

SELF CHECK IN: We try to personally greet all of our guests, but in the event we are delayed or otherwise occupied, or you arrive very late at night, you will be able to enter in our absence as follows:

Please drive down the driveway to the right of the house and park in the carport to the rear. The gate will be open. You can then enter through the rear door using an August electronic key (you will be sent an invitation to download the program) or a back-up key we will leave hidden in a place we will notify you of prior to your arrival.

HEAT AND AIR: The thermostat for the heating and air is located in the dining room. Just flip the switch on the right to “heat" or “cool” and then adjust the temperature up or down with the arrows on the left. We request that you put the switch in the “off" position when you are away. It is a large 5 ton HiVAC system, and heats and cools very rapidly.

GUIDEBOOK: On the counter in the kitchen you will find “Our Favorite Places in Redlands.” The places are numbered and keyed to a map of Redlands also on the counter.

TAKE OUT TRASH: Upon departure we ask that you empty all the waste baskets in the house and place the refuse in one of the two trash cans in the kitchen (regular and recycle) and deposit those in the rolling trash cans to the right of the shed in the back of the house.

TOWELS IN HAMPERS: Please place all used towels in the hampers on the back porch.

LINENS: Please leave used beds unmade.

The washer and dryer are for your personal items. Soap is in the cabinet across from the washer.

DISHES AND UTENSILS : During the course of your stay and up to the night before your departure, PLEASE WASH ALL GLASSWARE, UTENSILS, DISHES AND PANS IN THE DISHWASHER and return them to the places were you found them. The dishwasher tabs are in the door below the sink and you need only press the “start" to run the dishwasher. Before running the dishwasher, turn the sink faucet to hot (straight up) and run the water until it is hot, then turn it off and start the dishwasher.

If you use dishes, pans or utensils the morning of your departure, please place them in the dishwasher and start the cycle before you leave.

Redlands, California, Estados Unidos

The House is known locally as the Baughman (pronounced "Boffman") residence, and was built in 1910 by Redlands pioneers Charles and Emily Baughman on the then newly created Alvarado Street (named after the 24th Governor of California, Juan Bautista Alvarado, while California was under the sovereignty of Mexico) in the center of what was then an orange grove. Other homes soon followed, and the 500 block of Alvarado Street now consists entirely of well maintained and restored houses from the arts and crafts period. It is located on one of the two most desirable streets on the Redlands south side historic district - Alvarado and its neighboring street Buena Vista.

The house was the home of Charles Williams, a Mayor of Redlands and the Treasurer Tax Collector for the County, and was the childhood home of internationally known political author, journalist and correspondent James Fallows. The house has been awarded the Redlands Heritage Award by the Redlands Historical Society - given to those houses of significant historical significance and restored and maintained in their original condition. It was recently featured as an example of sensitive restoration and original features on the pilot for the home improvement channel series "Restored." The neighborhood is quite safe and the house is extremely quiet.

If you wish to learn more about the history of the house and of the City of Redlands, you are encouraged to Google "Redlands Timelines" and download the "RAHS Explorer" app. for your smartphone. Both were created by the local mapping company ESRI in collaboration with the Redlands Area Historical Society. They both employ GPS technology to allow you to tour Redlands on foot or by car, click on the address of the historical structure (including this house), and pull up a photo and description of the history of the house or structure and its former and present occupants.
