Mahalo for your Kokua!
I grew up in California while my husband 'Jeff' grew up here, on the island of Oahu.
We have been married since 1983 and honeymooned here in the islands which only reignited my husbands desires to return. As much as I loved Hawaii, I was torn between my family who resides on the mainland or following my husbands dreams. This kept us in California for many years until one day a hurricane 'Iniki struck the island chain. This happened in September of 1992.
My husband being a general contractor recieved many cries for assistance from old family and friends living in Hawaii and he felt this was 'the sign' to finally make the move. So, we rented out our California home and packed our bags. Once Kauai was rebuilt, he aquired a job with DLNR on the Big Island and away we went. We have now been living on the Big Island since 1997 and have made this our final destination. We built the Ohana above our home to allow our family to come visit and relax in their own private living space. This allowed all of us to be able to enjoy the beautiful paradise we call home with out being under ones foot.
In 2010 we decided to open our home to new acquaintances which we hope will turn into new friends.
Our family montra is 'Kinaole''. This means to do the right thing the first time.
We look forward to meeting strangers who become friends and friends who become family.
We look forward to meeting you! :)
