The place was nice since it was along the river. Only issues are: 1) Communication and check-in - nobody really responded to our booking change (change from 2 nights to 1 because there was no boat from Bandar late in the evening). If you posted in airbnb, I would expect someone to always respond and if the person in-charge is not available, it should be delegated to someone else. People left at the lodging house didn’t know a thing either. Nobody even fetched us from the jetty so it was good that I took a tour from another agency so we got transport to that area. So for the tours with them, we ended up not taking them since nobody knew about the price. And going back to Bandar was also a challenge. Good that other guests were going to leaving so we hitched with them. 2) Room cleanliness/amenities- it had shared bathrooms and showers with others so that would have been fine if they were cleaner. The cleanliness could be improved. There was no food at the lodging so we had to go to Bangar for food. They transpo price was a bit steep (B$20 back and forth) but at least the driver waited for us. There was really not much to do there except if you’d take their tour package. We would have but the people there didn’t know the price of the tours and we got tired of talking with the manager over their landline for other questions. Overall, the stay was so-so. Could have enjoyed more but their customer service was disorganized and poor. We should have stayed somewhere else because this experience was not the best.

Just beautiful. We stayed overnight at Freme Rainforest Lodge and booked the trek tour at Ulu Temburong National Park. The staff were very patient and promptly answered my questions prior to the trip. When we arrived, we had the lodge all to ourselves! There were no other guests at the time, and for about 2 hours, the staff were absent as well (not sure what happened here though). Nevertheless, we were able to buy food beforehand as we were advised we could use the kitchen. While the staff were away, we went ahead and prepared our dinner ourselves. They didn't seem to mind when they arrived. In the evening, insects/bugs came out and so we decided to stay in our room to have an early night's rest. Be sure to pack insect repellant, although this is a given since you're in the middle of the rainforest (part of the package). Overall, the food was good, the tour was great. We were lucky enough to see a crocodile and sea snake during the boat ride to Ulu!!! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience what the rainforest of Brunei has to offer!

The hosts were very friendly and picked us up from Bangar Jetty. We were welcomed with hot tea and snacks, making us feel at home right away. The lodge is situated in the forest, just by the river and it was extremely peaceful! All in all, the staff were extremely helpful and always made sure that we were safe (during all the activities) and that our tummies were filled with delicious food! I would highly recommend staying at this lodge if you want an authentic rainforest experience in Temburong!
