Short walk through the historic Sound End to bustling Market Square and a multitude of downtown restaurants and cafes, Strawbery Banke outdoor history museum, Prescott Park arts festival and Music Hall. Rent a kayak a block away to explore the calm waters of the Piscataqua River's Back Channel and tiny islands, take a river cruise on a authentic gundalow, a ferryboat ride to the Isles of Shoals, or book a spot on a charter fishing boat. You really don't need a car for this vacation trip - it's a short hop wherever you go. It is interesting - almost 1/2 of our guests take public transportation.
Atención a los huéspedes
We are a quiet professional couple who want to give you the privacy you need but the help you require if you want it. The room comes with a near-private entrance. French speakers welcome-- one of us is bilingual. Note that this is not a house share. It's a private room with full-sized bed (bigger than double-- the biggest that can fit up our antique staircase), and a master bathroom we share late at night. But we are around to help and offer suggestions if you would like. If you need us to cool your fish catch or your dinner leftovers, just let us know.

Please note that this is not a house share. It's a nice private room with a shared (after 11PM) master bathroom down the hall. This is conveniently close to downtown. We respect your privacy but we're usually around to help and are always just a cellphone or text away.
Please use your room as if it were your own. Stay out as late as you want in Portsmouth - enjoy the music, clubs, and theater. However, after 11 PM is quiet time in our house, so please don't disturb the neighbors or us after 11 PM. We do this because we enjoy it- but you are staying in a real historic home. So please treat it with care - and we so hope that you come back again!
Durante el período del 01 de Septiembre de 2017 - 30 de Noviembre de 2017 la estancia mínima es de 2 noches.
Professional semi-retired couple (one a bilingual French speaker) renting out a really nice bedroom in an antique 1802 historic home in the middle of the South End of Portsmouth. This very private room has water views of the South Mill Pond and is a short walk to downtown Portsmouth's Market Square and the waterfront, Prescott Park arts fest, Strawbery Banke outdoor history museum and lots of restaurant action. Laid-back hosts who respect your privacy but will help if needed and can always be reached via cell. One of us is usually around. But this is not a whole house share-- it's a nice private room with near-private entrance and full-sized bed, a bathroom down the hall that is shared only late at night-- and a chance to do your thing in nearby downtown Portsmouth. It's cheap, clean, safe and quiet.
