Experience life on the farm and make yourself at home in our unique country farmhouse. Described as THE place to stay in Kerry, it is perfect for an action-packed adventure of the Wild Atlantic Way, a fun family holiday or to enjoy a country getaway. Our place has four bedrooms, a spacious kitchen and living area plus a backyard patio and vegetable garden. Enjoy a walk to Rattoo Round Tower at sunset, a drive to the beach or a Guinness in one of the local pubs.

El alojamiento
Our four bedroom home is comfortably furnished. It offers guests two large double bedrooms and the other two, each furnished with two single beds. The property is adjoining my own home, so you have the comfort and privacy of your own space yet the security of having myself and my husband John next door if you need anything from travel advice to restaurant recommendations.

Each bedroom is decorated in a theme inspired by our local area. One room is based on a traditional Irish farmhouse and has a view of the family dairy farm. The others are inspired by the nearby beaches and the surrounding flora and fauna.

The kitchen/living room is a spacious welcoming area. It has everything you need to both relax and whip up a hearty meal. It features a large dining table that seats eight people, a coffee machine, electric oven, grill, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, cooking utensils and ample room for storage. There are two arm chairs and an electric fire, the ideal space to sip a morning coffee or relax and unwind after a day of traveling.

Everything you might need (bed linen, towels, kitchen items and coffee pods) is provided, as well as a small library of books on Kerry. We also provide tea, coffee, cereal, milk and of course eggs from our free range hens!

Our place is located in the heart of North Kerry, on the Wild Atlantic Way just outside the historic village of Ballyduff. Enjoy a short walk or cycle to the Rattoo Round Tower, catch the sunset in one of the beautiful nearby beaches, sample a restorative seaweed bath in Ballybunion, go on a day trip to Killarney or Dingle or walk to one of the many traditional Irish pubs in Ballyduff for a pint of Guinness.

We also have plenty of room for parking if you are bringing a car.

Acceso para huéspedes
You will also have access to the large kitchen, upstairs bathroom and bedrooms, a small utility room where there is a washer and a dryer and our shared front and back gardens where you might bump into our Border Collie or Jack Russell terriers.

Otros aspectos destacables
This is a farm house so you may hear some farm animals from time to time (all part of the experience). Our place is two-story with all bedroom upstairs. Our place is just off a main road, while traffic at night is minimal and windows are double glazed, you may not experience total silence. We are flexible with check-in/out times once there is not another guest coming. If there is we have a room where you can lock your bags if you wish. This house is connected to my own home via a corridor (where the bike is in the photo) but this remains locked at all times during your stay. The kitchen/living area is all one space. Public transport in the Irish countryside is very limited so we would strongly recommend hiring a car. Pets do live on the property, our place is not suitable for people that are allergic to dogs.

Tralee, Kerry, Irlanda

Ballyduff (Baile Dubh in Gaelic) is a small village steeped in history, located on the hills above the Cashen Bay where the River Feale flows to the sea at the mouth of the River Shannon.

It is home to the Rattoo Round Tower that dates back to the 10th century. It is the only complete round tower in Kerry and a hidden gem that most tour books overlook. The Rattoo Round Tower is about a 15-minute walk from our place and offers breathtaking views and spectacular photos whatever the weather.

Ballyduff is home to Kilmore beach ideal for a morning stroll or simply to listen to the waves hit the sea shore. There are four more beaches nearby perfect for swimming if you are prepared to brave the elements. They are Ballybunion, Ballyheigue, Banna, and Beal.

If you want to experience life as a local look no further than Ballyduff. It is a typical Irish village in the countryside surrounded by green fields and dairy farms. It is the ideal place to stay if you want to get away from busy tourist hotspots and experience what life in Ireland is really like.

Ballyduff is famous for its hurling (Irish sport played with sticks). If you come at the right time, you may even catch a hurling match!

Ballybunion is about a twelve-minute drive from Ballyduff and is home to the picturesque Ballybunion Castle and the famous Ballybunion Golf Course. If you enjoy stunning views or are interested in photography, it is a must at sunset!

Other local towns include; Listowel (approximately fifteen minutes drive) home to many festivals including Writers’ Week, horse racing festivals and a renowned food fair. Our place is still available for a few days of the Listowel Races. Tralee (about twenty minutes drive), where 'The Rose of Tralee Festival’ is held each year. Dingle and Killarney are approximately one hour drive away and ideal locations for day trips.

I am a school teacher who loves traveling, gardening and the outdoors. I enjoy spending time with my family, cycling around the scenic North Kerry and catching a sunset in Kilmore Beach (the closest beach to my home). Baking, photography, walking and hiking are also passions of mine. My next trip is to New York! I have vast experience in hospitality. My family ran a guest house for over fifteen years and even hosted famous Irish television personalities. I also probably have an ideal place for Airbnb. It is a full house adjoined to my own giving you the comfort and privacy of your own place yet the security of having both myself and my husband John next door. We are both foodies and travel junkies, so we are on hand to give you lots of restaurant recommendations and tips and advice for touring Kerry if you wish! Happy travels :)

The amount of interaction is up to you; I am happy to spend time telling you about the area, teaching you a few words and phrases in Irish (Gaelic) or a trip to collect the eggs from our free range hens.
